Im calling this piece of equipment to be OP real soon.
I picked up the Flux Active Scanner - Only worth about 18k SP
With the scanning range of 150m and a 30deg scanning radius.
I was able to do sweep scans of areas. When you use this piece of equipment you light up the minimap for all your teammates.
You practically control the team mob with this. The Flux lights up the enenmy for about 8secs
Makes it really easy for the Sqd leader to drop more percise OB's
I spec'd into the ADV stage Active Quatum Scanner (Or whatever its called)
This has a 100m range with 60Deg radius.
I love this piece of equipment it is so overlooked.
Its alittle derppy.
*Everytime I use it and it cooled down I was not able to rescan without putting it away and pulling it out. * Everytime you do scan you get some margin error or no margin error
I don't know what the cool down time is. But it quite the wait. But hey with something this OP hell I would wait.
Something that would be nice to see is SCAN ASSIST POINTS Atleast 10 or 5 I'll be happy with 5.
There's no incentives for the user to keep using it.
I think the only way to avoid or reduce how long you stay on the minimap is lower your profile. And you don't stay actve as long.
But Im calling it , this will be the next OP thing in the books. It just nobody knows about it yet.

I also use the breach on an alt, and it's great, was playing yesterday and we were able to coral the whole opposition. Most scans were picking up 6 or 7 peeps at surprisingly decent ranges.
We'd see a lot more of them if they gave some form of assist points, not sure if thats a good thing though.
Time to work on those dampening skills guys n gals. |

They know about it and are working on it. See the previous scanning devblog. Scans will only be revealed to your squad, and not your whole team. This will limit their intel that they give out for free.
Re: Flux Scanner - yes 150m range is a lot, but you didn't mention the 46dB precision. This can be avoided by either having Dampening V trained and being in a medium suit, being in a light suit, or having a dampener equipped. This is the REASON dampeners exist is to hide from detection.
Once people realize the real power of scanners, people will have to start sacrificing lowslots for dampeners to avoid the ADV scanners.
Re: Buggy scanner - I have let them knkow that typically scanners jam when you try to spam them a bunch before they completely cooldown.

Active scanner is great but its usage is not rewarded, the range is to short, and the cool down is to long. |

A 5 WP bonus for allies killing someone you've flagged would be nice, you shouldn't be getting a bonus for killing a target you've scanned yourself however. That's like awarding extra WP for a headshot kill, it's silly. You should headshot people for the damage boost, not because the man in the sky gives you extra candy for doing it. |

I love the active scanner but I play a Heavy, and all the actual heavy suits can't use equipment

Hope they only give 5 points if any, isn't it reward enough that you see the friggin enemy? Only way assaults will put down their nanos for it is if it gives a lot more because "THAT'S THE LOGI'S JOB NOT MINE I JUST KEEL STUFF" |

:/ I'm seriously considering Amarr Logi just because it's the only way to go with dual Scrambler Pistols and have both an Active Scanner and Nanohives.
But then there's Minmatar Assault which would grant two extra rounds per pistol... having to make a choice between Hive and Scanner is tough though.

If your scanner jams hit mel+Že and try it again. Seems to stop the jam bug. |

even if you run solo the 150m std one is very handy when used with a scrambler rifle, even more so with a lazer i should imagine |
