How do you grind 2.5 mil of SP for a proto suit
I grinder for 1m already and It is soo painfull . Weeks and weeks you do not reieve any new skills or operate new equipment . The requirement is so great for those proto suits that most normal people would just give up . Hell even a hardcore gamer would do that ... The only possible way that involvs having an actual social life is to just wait for 3 months and play some other games just so you can get 1,5/2m passive SP ...
Once again I am at the point where I think that CCP actually made the game to increase the sales of other games in the genre |

Just never look at your SP for a month or to and play to have fun. Try out tons of fittings with what you already have. And most of all; play to have fun. Works wonders! |

Join Oceania server, idle in MCC, play EVE. Cap eventually. Go to American server. Play there. Able to quit at anytime and break until next cap due to already reaching the cap for current week. |

Yes that is pretty much the only choice ... But the grindiness of Dust surpasses with easy any Korean MMORPG by a ton |

Ideally will should be entertain with game features and content, so we don't even think about the grind...But the only feature we have is the Pubstomping Conquest, which is not really a Feature ... just a different name for the normal game-play. |

No one forces anyone to grind or to use the same fit for months on end
With skills there are plenty of possibilities for fits. Yes you may want a particular Proto suit but there is nothing stopping you taking a slight course deviation and trying out new weapons on your advanced suit in the mean time
Proto suit is not the be all and end all of the game i'm a 18mill sp and have 2 Proto suits and i use them 0 times in public matches
Your comparison to eve is also not quite right while yes u can get a alt technically into a tengu in 2 months you will have no ability to tank or cause damage and by solely speccing for it you will rule out the thousands of other fits you speak of as you wont have the skills to fit or use the other modules
Also Jump Drive Calibration in eve is like a 50 day skill and what do you get for it a tiny bit more jump range no equipment no gear |

Yea exactly . I hit the cap yesterday night . I just logged in with my char and I am currently standing the merc quarters saying to my self "what the F am I suppose to do now" xD I counted the lights the stairs the beds . I was even looking at the small 3D hologram of a caldari tank on the table infront of the couch ... |

Vote for tiercide. Less grind to be competitive, less grind to try out new items, but still a grind for those who want to specialise.
Win-win.

Both games can not be compared really . I agree . The fact tho stands = no other FPS has a progression so slow as this . It is actually so slow that it beraly can be named as moving at all |

If we had PvE and more lore-based (instead x3 SP) events the grind wouldn't be so bad. Make a game with a story and tons of sidequests and you won't ever notice the grind.

Are you actually comparing a TITAN in EvE with a suit of armor in dust ?
Next thing you will compare a Captain of a warship with wearing a tuxedo |

AFK farm, do it while you can, CCP will try to stop it soon. You get SP from a battle even if you do nothing but stand in the MCC, so do that, and go watch a movie on your computer or something. |

Look, if there's anyone who knows the struggle of the grind, it's dropship pilots haha, constantly having to do our absolute 100% best in an under-powered flying glass ship, with each proto-fitting costing 1.2 million ISK. That means every time you go down, whether it's an RDV, accidentally hitting the MCC, or simply having your million dollar ship be taken out with 2 shots from an Ishiukone Forge Gun, that's 1.2 mil down the drain instantly. And if you're like me, all your 6-7 mil of SP went towards skilling into all of those proto fittings for the dropship, so my infantry fits are rather... lacking. That being said, only thanks to donations can i not have to constantly grind to afford my expense, but only because I'm talented at what i can do with it. If i were you, i would just skill into dropships because, while they can be really weak, if you get a fast proto fit they can be fun as hell to fly and you can usually make them last for 3-5 games without losing 1. |

For now i grind because of my corp mates. I think they're all that keep me going In the future i will be able to play the way I want to but it isn't here now. but I'll upgrade the core systems and hope for the day I can, as promised by CCP. Till then I'll play medic I may start a scout alt to relieve the boredom |

Actually, I don't feel much of a grind with this game (except for this week's event). I play a few hours every few days or so and hit my cap. Then I move on to other things until next week. You don't have to grind. Switch it up. One round I'll run around in my logi suit. Another I'll run a militia heavy with a militia forge. The next I'll do some sniping. You get the point. There are plenty of cheap/free options to play with until you've saved enough SP to do what you want. As a matter of fact, you really should try out all the different militia suits/weapons that you can so you don't waste you SP. |

You aren't going to get rid of grinding because it is in the game by design.
CCP know (from a variety of sources) that the more you "invest" in the game, the more likely you are to stick around for a long time. And it is those long term players that their business model is based on.
That business model sacrifices some new player retention (those not willing to make the investment) for increased "veteran" retention (those who are hooked on the game because of their investment in it).
You can shorten the grind, of course, if you are willing to invest something else instead: cold hard cash. |

So true dude, i feel sorry for the ppl which gave lots of money to DUST cause they're dreams will come crushing down.. even now they don't even know if they will be getting to PS4.... where is the sincerity from CCP?? i bet they will drop the game the coming year and are trying to take as much money they can before then.. and let's say they're words are true..it is a 8 year project..it will be on PS3?? and for those who say "ONE DAY IT WILL SHINE" i've got an answer: WHEN IT SHINES I WILL PLAY IT, TILL THEN I'LL RANT AS MUCH AS I WANT |
