I'm thinking that PC needs to be redesigned, changed, or just removed. It's not about who has the most skill, it's about which team can spam the best weapon.
This is what happened with the TAC-AR This is what happened with the Flaylock This is what's happening with the Mass Driver
In PC, you win by being able to camp an objective and kill things. That's not strategic, or fun. This is why I like pub matches as they actually let logi's and scouts do other things besides run into the middle and try to kill things (or be cannon fodder) ____________________
-The first change that needs to happen with PC is objective placement. You can't put two objectives in the city or else everyone's just going to stay in the city to try and capture back and forth those two objectives. If anything, more objectives need to be placed outside of the city to prevent camping of a single easy to defend area.
-Maps needs to have more pathways to objectives. Currently there's only one way through the map: outside objective, inside objectives, outside objective. If the opposing team is stuck in their spawn, there is no way for them to come back since there is only one direction for them to go. If the middle objectives were spread out farther into the maps, or if there was more maps similar to the bridge map (without the two objectives in the city), it would be better.
-OBJECTIVE SPAWNING NEEDS TO BE REMOVED. This will create an atmosphere similar to Domination, except that you have to rely on your logi's and CRUs to keep your team in the game. In order for this to happen though, Uplinks need to be much harder to detect unless you have superior scanning. This prevents players from just spawning at the other objective in the city when someone's sneaks past and takes one of the 2 (or 3) objectives. This also makes a good scout viable, as their main objective could be to sneak around and take out all of the hidden uplinks.
-CRUs need to be placed in between objectives, not at them. This would help with the second and third fix that I mentioned, as players would then have a reason to travel in more than one direction towards an objective. Players would also have to rely on these CRUs instead of the objective spawning to keep their team in play.
-Maps need to be larger, more players need to be involved. With these fixes, the maps will be much bigger (similar to the bridge map) but that means we need more than just 16v16. The matches need to be increased to 24v24 so that each objective can be fought over instead of just the ones in the middle. When you have such few forces, and 2 or 3 objectives in the center, most of your team is going to be in the center. If we had more teammates, and spread out objectives, then battles would be much more balanced.
With more players, and these fixes, PC will be less about spamming the best weapons, and more about strategic squad tactics. It makes other roles viable again, and lets brain win over brawn. |

I will bump this as well then.
I copied this post from one I made in reply to a mass driver thread, but it's still valid information. |

As lonjg as PC has that competitive atmosphere, everyone in it will exploit any means possible to win. There's no fixing player thought patterns. |

I really would like the maps to be bigger or perhaps even open world.
Right now dust is a lobby shooter when it really has the potential to be much more. |

yes the best weapon will always be favored but you can balance to a point where other weapons serve a purpose and can compete.
that said this post is less about weapons and more about how **** tastic the maps are. and how they can be fixed, and really map design plays heavily into weapon balance as welll. |

Sounds like your describing the map Ashland. I wish more maps were like that but a good sniper can drop everyone and get like 50+ kills from behind the redline.

Django never once said he has all the answers for pc. Though he did get to play in pc for a short time until ROFL wiped us of the map. But he is no longer in that corp and we have had a fresh start with some hope that we might win a pc battle (or 3!!) instead of buying our way in. |

It doesn't work against teamwork and solid skill. We have like 2 mass driver users, and we have the potential to win against any opponent.
I've been down with decreasing uplink mini map christmas since forever. they are overly visible IMO.
The bridge map is the worst map IMO because the vast open ground combined with a vehicle limit feeds sniper spamming and redline tanks if you're on the mountain side. This is exacerbated by poor redline placement.
I'd rather see map diversity more than larger maps.
City objectives aren't necessarily easy to defend.
Overall I think you're onto something, but I can't get behind this. |

Only 2 MD users... I may be wrong, but I swear I seen a couple of you talking about a PC match where half you held down a city with MD during the 2nd fight.. maybe i'm wrong |

Tiercide will lead to diversified and more team-oriented gameplay instead of gear-oriented gameplay.
How?
More roles, specialised roles: logibro to support heavies (bonus to repair tool efficacy on the suit) or logibro to support assaults (bonus to nanite resupply rate on dropsuit)
or heavy for frontal assault (bonus to movement speed on the suit, and the player can put skills into extending time until HMG overheat) or heavy for defending a point (bonus to HP, HMG ammo capacity)
Furthermore, much easier to balance as everything essentially has to be balanced only against a single level, instead of down and up tiers.
Once everything is balanced, then we can move on to expand games to 32v32, for instance. Bigger games = tactics become more viable as a means to victory, instead of pure firepower.

Why is it called tiercide?
Sounds like a poison or something, like pesticide |
