I lately bought a Move starter pack and the sharpshooter to try it out on DUST. It's really hard to get a halfway steady aim with it and actually aiming with it is even harder since you only move your crosshairs. After a week I finally manged to get a decent gunplay with it but only with AoE weapons or weapons with a lot of spread like HMGs or SMGs. With highly accurate weapons like Sniper Rifles you can forget it at all. That little kick when you pull the trigger is already enough to get of the target. If you turn sensitivity down you cannot aim in CQC or even Mid ranges anymore.
I thought a lot about ways to fix this and tried other Move shooters but most have the same problems. Also the recent controll changes barely affected Move.
1. Moving only the Crosshairs. This is really annoying and makes aiming and turning hard. Solution: The Crosshairs have to stay at the centre and should just follow the cross of your Move controller with a tracking speed defined by each weapon. Thus you would give the direction and speed to move the Crosshairs at like with the analog sticks of the dualshock. Also all the mechanics of the DS3 like acceleration could be used here. 2. The small kick when pulling the trigger. Solution: Since this is only a problem with accurate aiming it should be done by creating a low-sensitivity zone at the centre of the screen where such small movements are not calculated. It should be sensitive enough to recognize small intended motions of the controller though.
This are the only problems I noticed with exception of turning which would be dropped with my solutions. I wrote in this thread basicly about Move issues but maybe the changes could be implemented for KBM too as it follow mainly the same principle as Move. I havent tried it yet though maybe some KBM users could give their feedback regarding this for KBM.

I bought Move and used it once for shooters. And then no more. I think this would make the game at least playable with Move. |

Anyone who plays for stretches of time will quickly find out why combat with a 3 foot long brick mandates physical fitness.

It-¦s actually quite comfortable if you use a belt so that you can hang it on your shoulders or a tripod (camera tripod works too). If the controls wouldn-¦t be so washy it would work pretty well too and make a lot more fun. |
