4) There is already a limit on dropships that can occupy an airspace, I don't want a mechanical illiterate to be denying me that spot.
You pay a lot to be 2-3 shot by forge guns :P |

Its funny to me how even the cheap militia dropships are EASILY 2 shot by militia AV. What on earth is the point of those vehicles if they start off so underpowered you can't fly one for a solid 30 seconds and survive against free gear? |

yepp. The same ones that got a huge nerf before uprising.
They said the reduction would be about 1/3. It was more like 1/4th off,but then most came back in the form of turrets and hulls lol.
What used to be a 1.5 million ISK dropship is now like... a 1.3 million isk dropship.
Except they're still terrible so... |

Any dropship is a good dropship, as long as its not getting shot at.

I'm often hit by AV, I either ignore it or circle round to boost depending on what caused it. If anything I seek AV to get the blueberries out. What really confuses me is the flaylock kick that is outrageously exaggerated for the damage caused (how dare he scratch my paint!)

militia FG does 1300-1400 base damage.
Assaults can hit 2200 and about 1.5x more if in the 'weak spot'. I've made every conceivable drop ship fit and know too well their durability. Even with an AB, logi ships are slow. Their vertical acceleration is terrible. There is no fitting for any ship which can tank more than 3 assault forge hits without being dead.
There is no assault forge gunner is is bad enough to not take down a logi DS in a skirm/dom. If they got within 200-250 meters of you they could kill you faster than any defenses, reps or maneuver could save you. The math does not add up that you'd live if anyone tried to really kill you. Got lucky. |

Not to mention if you were hit by even militia swarms, and instead of instantly leaving you stuck around then you'd be even softer. This would let any FG 2 shot you easily. They must have been absent or deemed you a non-threat |

Got lucky. Yes the math isn't in the favour but it is a big (ok not really) battlefield and we're not the only players. All I can say is I wouldn't run a DS if we didn't have lots of active players who know what they're doing. If I take a forge hit I know my corp mates will prioritise to take it down if it means the built in CRU can stay near the objective to bring in more mercs. Also why should I go up? I don't need climb when the cover is ground based. If I climb wouldn't I be presenting myself as an easier target? We all need luck. If I'm going -¡-¡20-¦2 battles and no loss of DS then I don't mind being called lucky
fg could die, spawn in and have you dead before anyone could react to them. Also ground cover works well sometimes but not when everyone has AV nades and you may not be sure where the forge blast came from. Might be going right over them. |
