For the record I'm for optional repecs. I don't trust anything on that skill tree so i went the safe route. |

One last respec should be in order once the Caldari, Minmatar, and Gallente Heavy, the Caldari and Amarr Light, and Amarr and Minmatar LAV, HAV, and Dropship are released.
Problem is you don't want to offer a respec every time one of these is added since you may end up with several respecs, rather wait until they are all released and then offer it. |

EDIT: or in case of the heavy/new racial suits already in the game they may refund that branch of your skill tree but this is just speculation based off what they have done in EVE |

People always say this but are incorrect. CCP never said no more respecs, they said no more resets but are still open to another respec should the skill tree go through a substantial change. |

They should have a respect system in general. Even if it means playing 500 games or something. Personally I want mimnitar heavies and use dropships. Yet, one doesn't exist and the other one is bad to get serious about. |

That is why I refuse to spend another dime on this game. I also refuse to use any SP I have earned because they love to nerf everything and refuse to give respecs. So until they treat the players with better respect or fix the game I am going to horde my cash and SP. |

Many of the CPM have stated that they are in favor of limited respecs for major content releases, since so much is changing right now. |

What he is saying is the these things, aka tanks, dropsuits, and weapons are core content that should have been available on release.
To not give players the chance to spec the fullest of their SP into the items of equipment that actually want to is akin to penalising them for supporting and playing the game for as long as they have.
Dusts Competition will not neglect these things like CCP has, we should understand that Dust will not truly be a complete game unti these core features are available, when they are I have not problem saying.

But currently all CCP has done is successfully intro dice four unique and diverse races then say....
"You cant have these things yet only THESE THINGS"
I mean I want to be a tanker, but I don't want to pilot any vehicles by the Gallente or the Matari, that leaves shield tanks... and I think shield tankers are the biggest pussies in the game. I want Amarrian Tanks. What can I not have those?
So while I couldn't spec into Tanks I had to spend SP in Amarr assault or AFK the game. Since I think I have enough integrity not to AFK, what else could I have done to become competitive? |

Those of us that have half a brain, are keeping our SP unallocated for when they do become available. Stop asking for a damn respec for everything. I could skill into some stuff with 3mil SP, but I'm keeping it reserved for the pilot suits. |

But Mr long time Chromosome player vet man thing, you already have the SP to keep enough back and still be effective. My toon is two months old, how can be effective at anything and still hold back any SP to spend on other things. |

i am keeping my unallocated sp but it will take me another month or two to get what i want lol. I just don't want it to be the case of me specing in the amarr sentinal suit and they come out with another race for the heavys that looks better. I would just shoot someone lol. |

You never played Eve did you? And if you did, you are wrong. Eve has no respec system in the sense that SP gets reallocated. You only reallocate attribute points which let you determine which skill books get trained faster and which suffer slower training time.

Now if we consider that CCP has expressly stated they will continue developing the game for 10 years, are we just going to implement optional respecs and totally ignore New Eden's sandbox and persistent universe where actions matter?
Once again the question arises: What is DUST 514?
How closely linked do we want it to be with New Eden or EVE Online? (I believe they're two different things)
How much of an FPS do we want it to be? How much of an MMO? How much of an RPG?
To be honest, I don't believe giving out respecs for AUR, or monthly, or yearly, or weekly, or per 10mill SP, or per 1mill WP, or whatever, will be a suitable solution.
The whole SP system needs to change, and tiercide is a promising alternative. I have not seen one argument which has proven tiercide is a weaker system than the one we have right now. |

I have purchased product A. It took a monetary value X and time investment Y. Now the merchant decides to change product A. Is it ethical to not allow the consumer to decide if A' is something they still want? Now that it is different, for the good or bad? New product...sure respec be damned...grind away for new toys. Touching anything in the effective tree. That is taking my apple mid bit and giving me an orange and telling me to read the fine lines chump.
There is a company under the name of Halliburton... one of its subsidiaries has a policy. Before it hires an individual one must sign a contract stating they can never sue their employer but only go into private arbitration (whose salary is paid by said subsidiary). Sounds fishy? Legal and all but not very ethical...is the picture any more clear?
