I feel that the current system could use a change. Not that the current system is bad but a new system that can open up more opportunities to suit customization.
The current system now for plates and extenders is to increase the base value by a set amount.
I was thinking we could change it to a % amount of the base.
With an equation like this.
(B*P)+B=T Rounded up to the nearest integer
B= base amount P= % to be increased T= total amount applied after rounded up to the nearest integer.
EX: your frame has a base armor 8. You add an armor plate that gives a 100% boost to armor. your total armor will be 16 after it is applied
(8*1)+8=16
another EX: Your frame has a base armor of 8. you add an armor plate that gives a 60%. Your total will be 13
(8*.6)+8=12.8 rounded up to the nearest integer =13
Now for some more realistic numbers.
EX: Your frame has 150 base armor and 200 base shields. You add a plate and extender that both adds 60%. Your total armor is now 240. Your total shield is now 320.
(150*.6)+150=240
(150*.6)+200=320
Now, any Dust player would know that the base stats for the suit lean twords shields *i would have used the caldari base stats, but i forgot them *
But can you see the diffrence in total stats? Both mods gave the same % but shield got a bigger bonus.
If this were applied it would make suits feel more specilised and with high lvl mods can clear up space for other mods too *like profile dampeners and damage mods*.
Altho, I think with this new system that only one (1) mod of each tier (proto, adv, standard.) can be applied at a time *A shield mod and an armor mod can still be applied at the same time*. Unless a hefty penalty is applied to each mod after that to balance it out (-20% per mod)*we don't want scouts with 1k hitpoints running around do we?*.
I also think this could help balance out a lot of the suits we have now *and give more motivation to lvl up there skills to get more slots.*
This is open for discussion but please give DETAILED repies if you positive/ negitive feedback. If you are just postiong to say this is cool or not cool you don't need a paragraph.

Your math is off. Also, this highly favors suits with higher base eHP, pretty much ruining Scouts' chances of being reasonably survivable. Also, the stacking penalty would not affect Scouts, who aren't likely to use multiple. And 1000 hp on a Scout would not be even remotely possible.
Its a joke, And can you correct my math? I just did it on a calculator to be sure and it all checks out.
Also the % are all just thrown out numbers. If you have a better idea just put it out. Dont just point out my flaws without the slightest hint on how to correct them. |

Scouts are not supposed to have high hitpoints in the first place. my scouts dont even use extenders or plates and survive just fine *I alot of the biotics mods* Ok. Anyways, I guess it was more a typo then a math mistake, you have 150 for both the shield and armor values in your calculations: ( 150*.6)+150=240 ( 150*.6)+200=320
Now i feel like an idiot. Thanks for pointing that out, ill fix that right away! |
