This is the future, we can't have auto pilot in vehicles? When mechs come out I hope they have this implemented because I'm guessing they won't have that much health and I think it would be cool to just have a talking turret follow you around :D vehicles I feel like are just re-enforcements and shouldn't JUST be another, more expensive version of a dropsuit. For something like LAVs and tanks and dropships perhaps just autoturrets, that way they can enhance the driver's experience and still not be near as good as when there is someone driving it. Idk it's an ideal, probably better left for PVE but it would certainly make things interesting :) |

I'm a strong supporter of auto turrets but auto driving not so much maybe a dropship has hover mode where you can freely acces the turrets but otherwise your looking at a marine driving a warthog, yoy never let a marine drive a warthog |

how exactly would you plot your course for autopilot, otherwise you would autopilot straight forward into the nearest redline/obstacle. still i support the idea, but how would it actually work? |

Well if something like a mech is actually moving just set a waypoint mass effect style and have it go near there, grab cover, take the best action, blah blah blah. but yeah for things like LAVs I think as far as I would go is have a call button, like have it sitting somewhere on the map and if u need a ride have it come to u, dropship yeah probably just have it hover, or stay near a ground point or player, for conventional vehicles I think it should be more about auto guns but something like a mech obviously is more of infantry support rather than transportation so modify to fit that role, there's plenty of pet, drone, or squadmate AI out there for other games so it wouldn't be impossible. Hell titanfall is making it happen lol |

This is the future. Turrets should aim and fire by themselves, and you simply tell them what to shoot. |

This is the future and we still have redundant AI controlling the RDVs. What makes you think the LAV is not going to accidentally take you into waiting hands of a forge gunner? |

Noooooo, lol no auto pilot while ur driving, just when no-one is in there so its not sitting there waiting to be shot, have it fight back, or if you're driving a tank have the small turrets fire on their own. Idk how a fully functioning auto pilot would work on something like a tank and if CCP can figure it out great, I just don't see why a dropship should crash or a tank shouldn't fight back when no-one is inside. |

DS hover when not piloting. Tanks get auto turrets that act like instilations (don't fire on infantry until attacked but will auto target vehicles) LAVs get call buttons.
Hmm... I actually like these ideas. TBH the first time I used a dropship (out of curiosity) I switched to the gunner seat and dropped out of the sky. Then it hit me... this isn't a dam helicopter lol.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST. |
