All vehicles are cheap tactics, even if the DS is squishy. But it's only squishy if somebody decides to sacrifice their infantry killing ability to take out annoying vehicles with whatever AV setup they have (or at least attempt it). |

I am seeing more and more assault dropship pilots somehow managing with the gimped vehicle and being successful. Very glad to see it gaining some traction. |

I have seen some very skilled ADS pilots and I'm always in awe, because I've had the sh*ttiest time trying to fly dropships myself. |

In one of my last games went 15/1 as the gunner in a (admitedly slightly modded) Gorgon my corp mate was driving
The enemy actually started running from us whenever we turned up

We are training new pilots properly now. My training videos thread start from the basics, show a ps3 controller graphic so people can see what does what, and cover how to fly from step 1 to advanced flight and tactics. Video 4 (almost done) even covers barrel rolls.
There are a few pilot channels too where we squad up and help each other. BUT they are still broken so don't see this as that dropships are in a good place. They are not. Still way too weak, way to easy to hit and all the other issues. |

I've been following those, and I might even actually try piloting a DS again. My biggest issue with them has always been trying to yaw with the right stick, though
Too many years of Ace Combat means my muscle memory is all for yawing with L2-R2. |

I have always gotten matches where I would end up with double digit kills... but it was not worth posting about it... since there was never any hatemail. But now, I feel as though i have earned that right, let the hatemail continue coming in. |

Well I could understand if you were like floating out of range of most weapon systems. I would chase you myself but I don't have ADS nor gunners brave enough to lift off. |

Yeah, maybe that's just a highly delayed mail from codex, when dropships could outrun swarms, or just sit behind a mountain after being hit by something until they're back to 100% health and all modules cooled. |

If I force you to switch to AV for the entire match and concentrate all your fire power on my one dropship, I did my job even if I dont get many kills. I feel special when 3-5 people switch to missiles, makes me feel wanted. :) |
