a warning is still good to have for new players But it could open up new interesting gameplay by allowing the possibilities to have no weapon -playing a "0 kill char" fully support guy -giving more fitting possibilities for such a role
Eventually creating a specific logistic template without light/sidearm slot (flux grenade would be of some help for others)
I played a "0 kill" char on planetside 1 and i brought it to BR20, and it was 1-fun to play, very new approch 2-i was very appreciated, was very helpfull, not a parasite (reviving/repairIng everything, scouting/spying/hacking) was even doing ammo support running into gen/cc hold to bring ammo with running max for those who know the game |

Requiring you to equip a weapon does not require that you actually use it in battle (though I recommend that you do generally use it). You are more than free to play a "0 kill" character. I would recommend that if you want to do this, fit only a sidearm with a low resource cost and no primary. Once you spawn, switch to some equipment and go from there. What about for LAVs, Tanks, and derpships, would be awesome to remove the small turrets from these vehicles to allow for better fitting options. |

The issue is that you are still using PG/CPU, however, for the unused item. The goal is to free that up to use on other items you are attempting to use. |

Along the same vein. Any hints if you will implement turretless LAVs? Is this what the "chassis" tab in the market will include?
Personally, I want something like this:
Logistics Chassis: >Removes Turret >Adds 2 seats (total of 4 passengers) >Reduces top speed and acceleration by 5-10% >Increases Shield/Armour (respective for each model) resistance by 5% >Reduces Driver/Passanger hitbox size
or something like this. |

The fittings cost for base level sidearms is very low. The "0 kill" play style is completely accessible under current game mechanics (I've done it in more than one match). There's not much reason to spend Dev time on such a change at this point.

I think it'd be kind of neat to be able to forgo weapons to leave the maximum amount of fitting possible for equipment and modules.
I'm not that good a shot anyway, so I could set my fit up with more Logi gear. |
