So I took the leap and bought level 3 shield extension skill, allowing me to use the best shield extenders on my tank. The Pg cost is a bit more then the supplemental extender, so it's a pain sometimes to fit them up, but I have put them on all my tank fits.
Missile Fit High Slots -Best extender -2x Ward shield amplifier -Best heavy heal -Best speed booster ( you could also replace this with the best light heal or another ward amplifier for more tank)
Low Slots -15% Pg boosters
Turrets -Advanced Missiles of your choice (I like the frags best for infantry or even some accelerated, really missiles aren't too great) -Small missile launchers.
This gives me a bump up to 5400 hp over my previous fits, which does make a marginal difference when it comes to getting out of the hot zone.
Though what I have found is that missiles are very tough to use as opposed to the blaster. When it comes to infantry, frags tend to do well when there are groups of them and the accelerated can do some heavy damage against some turrets and vehicles. I took out one tank np, armor tank with a weak fit, and hit a shield tanker a few times ( good fit ) and barely scratched him. Maybe give us 2 set's of missiles to use, one for range, single fire missile and one for the infantry, burst missiles. Haven't had a whole lot of good situations in which to use them, and even then they don't quite stack up well against a blaster. I like the speed though in my setup. I ran a blaster without it, same setup, except I used a active Shield resist as my last high slot. The lack of speed was crippling. Bumpin up tank speed would help us out a bit when we need to get out of a hot zone.
So far I've done a total of 7 games and lost one tank with this setup (though I always recall my short range tanks in favor of my rails when things get rough).
My Rails High slots -Best shield extender -x2 ward shield amplifier -Light best heal -Heatsink II
Low slots -PG booster -Damage mod
Turrets Proto Rail, (I use the light aur one a lot to offset costs and my big one every now and again) Small Missile turrets
My Blaster High Slots -Best shield extender -x2 ward shield amplifer -Heavy heal (supplemental) -Speed booster
Low Slots -x2 pg booster
Turret Advance blaster(best you can do to maintain any amount of tank) Small missile turrets
Let me know what ya think of the fits.

No such thing, these are solid fits from a 5mil tanker, which is more then enough to max out your standard tanks. I have a bit of a different playstyle then you are used to it would seem. A bit more out of the box thinking would help this game. |

Your on Feedback and Requests, to post a vehicle Fit.... Seems odd....
Ahhh, yeah I might not have been quite concise enough with my post. I was hoping to start up a discussion and see what others thought of running a shield tank like this. I'm interested in seeing how others fit their tanks and what kind of success they have with missiles on the shield tank, as fitting missiles gives you the most PG to fit your tank stuff with. I was also hoping to see how other fit a shield enforcer if there are any out there.
I just figure it would be good to show CCP how I've been using my tanks and a few thoughts on them. I consider missiles for the most part useless compared to blasters but I know there is somebody out there that could give feed back against my missiles are crap argument. |

I also have another forum post of the same name as this minus the part 2 that goes into further details, in my first one I spoke of blasters and rails more then missiles, so I decided to try out missiles with a fit and see what I could do with them, to give feed back on that aspect of the shield tanking.
Had some good discussions with the first one so I hope this one get's some good replies as well |
