Who is finding this to be too small? I can imagine that the maximum number of possible fits needed will only increase as people can use more stuff.
I have started out as an amarr logi, and even if I were to keep my main tank/weapon combo, I have a tendency to permutate a lot of the options in my equipment slots. If I go solo, I have equipment I can try and deploy a lot of to get points. I have cheap and medium priced versions of stuff. I have medium and long range versions. I've started to mess around with commando fits. I also have tried to see if the medium basic suits are worth much, not to mention having 6-7 BPO dropsuits that I really don't use enough.
So with this you can see how quickly I and others can get to the 30 fittings. Realistically I may play with 5-6 in any game, but what I use in a vehicle friendly map is different than a CQC map, or a fortification/domination map, especially as a logi.
So what if we could get folders? I wouldn't even be opposed to spending a bit of aurum to get some extra fitting spaces. |

Reav Hannari wrote:My old and feeble brain has trouble filtering 30 fits anyway. I try to keep less than 10 so I stop switching to the wrong one in the heat of battle.
However, I can't see how database space can be that much of an issue. I don't see why they can't offer more. Folders would be nice so I can keep limited edition fits around but away from the ones I use in battle.
My naming convention is
[ROLE] [Suit] [WPN] [EQP] $cost and I abreviate what I can.
My roles are, attack (gank), combat (survivability), supply (nanohives + uplinks), logisitics (nanohives + repair), support (lethality+hives/repair), defense (longer range + survivability).
I use one or two letters for the equipment I'm using and can fit most of my fit on one line. |

I'm bookmarking this for when you get on threads to complain about how something isn't balanced. This just shows how dedicated to one style of play you are. |

Honestly at this point, I don't know why we necessarily have to stock stuff as long as we have the isk. Why couldn't the game just auto-charge us whenever we take out a suit to use? A lot of the slowness of stuff is because of how all of the restocking has to be calculated. I feel like that could be refined a few different ways. |

I'm managing to get by now because I don't have any proto suits, but I'm sure I I'll feel the pain in a few months.
yeah 360 possible combinations of different equipment if you use one of each kind in a 4 slot logi (no two nanohives etc) |

this is my generic naming convention, i can easily see at a glance which suit, weapon, grenade, and equipment i have on it
Yeah that's nearly exactly what I do. |

So looking at some of the posters on here, it seems the be the handful, that limit themselves to REALLY specialized skill distributions/fits that complain the loudest about not being able to handle certain weapons.
I think this shows the significance of a diversity of sp investments. |

stop clogging up all the memory!
who the hell really needs to have instant access every game to 30 different suits o.0
at most I could see maybe 5-6 different suits being used in a single game , or someone is just doing a lot of testing..
I have a total of 9 fittings , and only really use about 5 of them regularly
You probably aren't a logi...
So I have my basic 'support' fits with MD, about 500 eHP and then my Equipment
To give you an idea of how much variety your equipment slots can have...
I have one suit with 3x healing hives I use in domination to completely cover an area with heals for the points. I have a similar suit for resupply hives and uplinks. Then I have glass cannon AV fits with proto SL and PC. Next I have 'frontline' support fits with assault SR with hive/repair/injector or nanohive/injector/uplink depending on the kind of squad I'm running with. Also I have a suit of combat fits with repair hives and scanners that are more for running solo/smaller squads when blue dots aren't doing so hot.
Then there are the other specialized stuff just for experimentation or specialized purposes, like my mining fit I use to get 9 proximity mines down in a central location for a nearly guaranteed 3-4 kills a game.
On top of all this I'm an amarr logi, which means I also have the ability to also focus on being a semi-slayer, so I have some fittings that spend less PG/CPU on equipment and more on tank/DPS. Lately though in my support fittings I've swapped in the complete opposite direction and gone with dual pistol setups to save fitting space and it has worked out well enough. |
