So from my testing on the Oceania I seem to have noticed that you get highest ISK/effort for playing the first couple of minutes of the round and rack up points as much as you can in that time (usually 500-1000) and then go afk for the rest of the match. You can get as high as 350K ISK for 0 kills, 0 deaths and ~1000 WP with actual playtime as little as roughly 3 mins. There is a catch however, you need to be one of the 3 or less players on your team actually playing (meaning everyone else on your team has to be afk) and your team's total kills need to stay under 5. If your team has more than 3 players actually playing or your team gets more than 5 total kills your ISK reward will get penalized.
Now, the second highest ISK/effort is for simply staying afk the whole round if there is no one else either on your team actually playing on the field. This will yield as high as 200K ISK or more.
Now if your team is actually playing the damn game and you are not, then you will most likely not be rewarded more than 100K ISK (due to you being so low on the killboard).
Now, if you actually play the game as intended with your team, you will most likely get rewarded somewhere around 200-300k ISK for first place in average game. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Now seeing that you can get the same for little to no effort at all I can only wonder what was CCP's reasoning behind this. Was it to encourage AFK? Was it to discourage pushing hard in instant battles? Who knows...
TL;DR - Play the first minutes of the game - Rack up points - Go AFK - ????? - PROFIT

Yeah I meant it in the way that the ISK don't really matter like that since my fits are free so I lose nothing. But you are correct some ISK is needed, to buy skill books.

I am not discussing AFK tactics... I am wondering why the **** does the game make AFKing more profitable than actually playing the game as intended. This of course only goes for these instant battles. If you play the game as intented you risk losing fits / vehicles which diminishes your profit from battles which in average game is only 200-300K anyway and then if you afk you risk nothing and gain the same or more EVERY game. The game needs to reward players for playing the game, not spit them in the face for playing it. It is just ridiculous how AFK is more profitable than helping your team win the battle.
And then most people wonder why the **** there are so many people that are AFK, well, maybe because it is actually more rewarding than playing the game, maybe because of the reasons that many have already said on these forums. Maybe because of all those reasons.
People wont stop AFK as long as it is more profitable than actually playing the game. I love this game, I really do, but there are so many things that are wrong, this being one of them. |

If afk was banned the population would NEVER hit 3k is that what you really want? 2500 dedicated kb/m evetards to play a lobby shooter with?

Kill afkers kill dust. I never said I wanted to kill afkers or forceably make them quit. I want the game to reward for playing instead of afking so there will be no point for afk, meaning those players will actually start playing as they see that playing is rewarding once again. |
