It's just my opinion. We all know it's not "RND" opinion. I just laugh when I see threads like that talking about nerfing a supose OP weapon after a pub stomping match and how they try to justify the nerf petition. Just that. In the meanwhile I train my english.

What the mass driver needs is an appropriate gradient for splash damage. It really wouldn't bother me if it weren't for the fact that it is almost unavoidable within 25 meters even if someone gave their cat the controller and let it play. Reducing the damage would make it too ineffective as an infantry weapon, and reducing the splash radius would make it too ineffective as an area denial support weapon. |

Don't be crazy. The splash damage it's ok. The weapon is ok. If you're a long distance and someone shoots you with a Mass Driver, you can dance September - Earth Wind & Fire before the "granade" reachs you and you still can dodge it. If you're at close range, well, deal with it. Will you ask for a nerf over the shotgun too? Maybe it's too powerfull if it shoots you in your face. |

lol...see I hate the one-hit-kill shotgun too.
I have to admit, I am one of those guys that hates everything that isn't an assault rifle. I don't like heavies, shotties, tanks, etc. But I know that they are weapons that we have to deal with because they are in game. We have RND members that use every sort of weapon. And Dust isn't, primarily, an assault rifle game so we just have to deal with it. This community just has such a diverse set of opinions, you will never be able to please everyone. |

TBH, I don't think they should even consider changing any weapons until we see how 1.4 shakes out. Whatever changes to the aiming and aim assist are, they could change a lot of the dynamics in firefights. As they are now, though, they are a bit too oppressive with the lvl 5 bonus, but yes I understand why MD users are defensive because nerfing them could easily turn the tables and make them sitting ducks in too many situations. |

Exactly I said this in a few other MD threads but even in chromosome when the MD was actually OP lasers and aiming were there to shut them down quicker... I actually scored higher using the AR then the MD because aiming actually worked...

Flux and locust grenades are too strong. MD is just there to showcase this. MD is too strong against scouts. Probably more a problem with the scouts than the mass driver. MD is very effective from high elevation. Working as intended, it is pretty hard to use from low elevation and skill based on even terrain.
Splash damage scaling based on the distance from target is a GREAT idea. The MD will probably require a damage buff if they implement such things, but that change would add more risk/reward to the gun. They should make it happen. I hope the server doesn't crash with all the extra maths though...
We aren't some homogeneous blob btw. Actually I would say that we are a very decentralized group. Cubs, High Times and the rest of the directors are definitely in charge, but most of the decisions are made in a manner that resembles the outcomes of democracy and our gameplay and individual functions are all chosen by ourselves. Way it works is that you have a role, so long as it works you are free to fulfill it however you see fit. |

Yep, the aiming in Chrome was dam near perfect. MD's almost needed the extra power to fight the AR's and Lasers. Now its really rough trying to use AR's and pistols. It'd probably solve a lot of issues people are having. |

i have seen many ppl just run into a bunch of enemys shooting their MD left, right and center hoping to kill as many ppl as possible, now thats not skill, but im sure there are plenty of ppl that can use the MD skillfully, what ever that may mean. ive never used 1 to know |
