Just to start, IM NOT A MD OR FORGEGUN USER. Im a gallente assault/scout and i fly dropships. My main weapons are tge AR, shotgun and plasma cannon.
You cant call for a nerf to these weapons, you will start a landslide. The flaylock and cal logi were OP and thus needed a nerf/balance pass.
We need to get a proper forum and discuss the weappns in full detail.
Now, MD and forge gun users we need you here to talk about the weapons as well. Ive seen alot of MD users ask for buffs without saying why.
No halfass here, just talk about and trying convinced each other what should be done. |

Also, i dont beleive i am qualfied to provide any feed back. I can discuss my feelings and how the weapons have killed me(again, i dont use either weapon...at all) |

I've been using the MD since way before the Flaylock Nerf and even before the MD buff (skilled into all them Light Weapons one day). I love the MD now, I run with one of my ScR users and have a lot of fun. I also kill myself quite often, just thought I'd say that.
I can see why people hate the MD, and I see that it will get nerfed with all the people switching to it, and I'll just move on in the list, may go back to ScR for a bit. If anything were to get changed, I would suggest the blast radius. It increases quite drastically, and then you get the passive increase from Operation. If you lowered the initial radius, while leaving the skill as is, I think people wouldn't hate the MD quite as much.
I've just begun contemplating speccing into the Forge Gun, been using the Militia for a few weeks. I think the only Nerf really required is to make a secondary redline only for infantry (like Battlefield) that prevents people from being on buildings only accessible via DS. However, I doubt CCP has the know how to make this happen.
Note, that like wouldn't do anything to vehicles, only infantry that jump out. Make it a dome over the map, or better yet, make it flat and extend the whole map, including MCC, make AFKing up there impossible.

Even if they nerf the MD I'll probably still use it as long as it's not completely useless. Uprising 1-1.2 was too much. But even with a nerf, a flux and a MD with a huge bonus against armor is still gonna insta-ragdoll most players. So I think changes to the armor bonus are what's needed.
Forgeguns have been killing me way more than MD's but I've never used them so I don't know how they could be changed. Doesn't even bother me to be honest. A huge gun like that should be able to one shot players and heavies already have a tough time as it is.
The only things I think are too OP are the stronger-than-a-tank LAV's and contact nades. |

I have been using the FG as my primary weapon since Chromosome.
It hasn't changed since then so I don't understand the cry for nerf now.
Only thing I hate is the generic style of FG (the one with the 3.5 second charge and can hold it whilst moving). Way too easy to use effectively. Either remove it all together or drop damage by half.
Assault FG and breach FG actually require skill to use accurately.
Side note, ALL guns are more effective from a vantage point. |

It's like being in Groundhog day reading these forums sometimes...
There was a call for the MD to be nerfed a while back which happened...
It gets a rebalance and buff, everyone skills into it because its a pretty
decent weapon...
People get killed by it, freak the duck out and the nerf calls begin anew...
Wash, rinse, repeat until the very end of time itself... |

+1 for stopping the nerf threads. seems like if someone gets killed by anything other than an AR then they run to the forums and scream NERF. Dust is slowly gaining its balance as far as the weapons are concerned. The MD and the Flaylock have made a turn for the better. The only reason people are complaining about the FG is because a) there has been an uprising (<-- see what i did there?) of forge gun snipers, or b) you feel like a tool when you get killed by one. And seriously, I saw a thread the other day about the SMG being OP. Guys...if you invest millions of SP into a weapon, ANY weapon...even the bum a$$ plasma cannon, it's gonna do some damage. If more people were dead-eyes and skilled into the scrambler pistol, that would be the next weapon in the nerf chain...sad, but true. People for whatever reason can't stand getting killed by anything other than the AR. Makes no friggin sense. |
