Honestly, I think there needs to be a special suit, just like in Eve how you have to fly Cov Ops to get the best cloak. Here's what I say:
1. Special scout suit 2. No light weapons 3. One Sidearm only 4. Small Grenade slot 5. Cloak takes equipment slot 6. One high and one low module slot 7. No hacking, shooting, or throwing grenades while cloaked 8. 15 second delay before hacking 9. 30 sedond delay before using sidearm or grenades
I think that is fairly balanced. What say you? |

The invisibility bug is a bug. This needs to be fixed yes, but the module won't work nearly the same way. Had you read this thread, or any of the others which detail what is known and how CCP and the players want it to be implemented, perhaps you wouldn't sound so... well is moronic too harsh of a term? |

Great idea, but the deloaking delay will give time for the target to move; I seriously doubt a sniper like this will register a lot of kills. Also, if they were to do what I suggest and allow only sidearms this won't happen at all. |

CCP confirmed that it is equipment I think. I'll try to find the link.
The idea of a light dropsuit is speculation at this point, and has been suggested by the players as a way to balance it. |

Confirmation that it is equipment and that scout suits will benefit the most:
"The second item is a Cloaking Field. This sneaky bit of kit will not only make you (almost) invisible to other combatants, it will also blind turret AI targeting systems. It isnGÇÖt perfect invisibility, scanners will still pick you up if you havenGÇÖt masked your signal well enough, motion will disrupt the field to some extent and weapon fire will cause the field to shut down. This means it will take some skill to use to its maximum potential. This item is going to be a real game changer, particularly for Scout dropsuits which have been screaming out for stealth gear." |

Well, someone just said it better than I could. And moronic people cannot punctuate or capitalize sentences. You'd still have invisible people dashing up, shooting you, then vanishing, the only difference is you'll be able to see them for a brief moment as you bleed out. If there is a delay between decloaking and shooting a gun (like in Eve), no you wouldn't see them only as you bled out. Again, please read the posts.
I recommend a 30 second delay. |
