I'm thinking of helping develop some other corporations into Security Corporations. The only problem is that I want to know the true possibilities of a Security Corporation. If there are low possibilities and it's not something that can be seen as profitable, I'll give up on that idea for now but I do indeed have a structure and concept behind it.
What is a Security Corporation? It's a corporation that enters a meta contract with another corporation, usually independent, and backs a corporation up through several services including, but not limited to, back-up ringing, district monitoring, threat monitoring, strategic suggestion, space-security, counter-intelligence, and even district holding(if an emergency occurs).
Imagine Militaries Sans Frontieres, the premiere mercenary corporation, only locking down to one or two corporations at a time and constantly providing their services for them when it comes to defensive battles with a bi-weekly or monthly fee.
Of course that system of fees wouldn't be the only ways ISK can be gained, and I'd imagine that Security Corporations would be innovative. This would be a highly profitable idea because these Security Corporations will never have to pay for clones, will be highly sought after by small corporations who don't have a major force to constantly back up their district, also be sought out for their space security and potential for orbital strikes when the time calls for it, the fact that if their name is big enough they will keep most hostiles away thus letting them sit on the bench and accumulate, and another fact being that the corporation they work for will always have a streamline of ISK going for them as long as they're doing their job.
The concept is simple: Support small corporations with Security services. It's easy although not as easy on paper as it is on field but it's a great way to make ISK. The concept would also bring in a new role to the mercenary economy and make for a better game with a deeper meta.
I would imagine a corporation like the Imperfects being a Security Corporation, contractually locked to a small corporation and racking up ISK as they barely use resources and when they do use them, they don't use much of them because they're skilled in efficiency. With their quality and brand they would probably make 150 Mil ISK - 200 Mil ISK a month? It's a high price but for a high value. Cheaper corporations might make 50 ISK - 80 ISK a month but aren't as efficient.
If possible Security Corporations could extend to Alliances and such that do nothing else but regulate security services and give official stamps of approval for the market. This would have to be after the Security niche is developed a little more and somewhat populated but I can really see this happening.

So that's all I have in my head. What do you guys think? I'd also ask that you keep your "morals" to yourself. I can't imagine something thinking that this is a morally wrong idea in New Eden but then this is New Eden, anything can happen. |

I don't know to be honest but several CEOs/Directors were interested in Foxhound's help so I guess I'll be helping to develop some of those corporations into Security Corporations if they're willing to do so. |

@Rogatien Merc How would there be a lack of motivation for Security Contracts? Also yeah, we have no contract system but it wouldn't matter. Customer corporations would "ring" in the security corporation's mercenaries when needed. Immagination is key but there wouldn't be so much effort put into making it work if it's done properly.
Your example also doesn't make sense. Security Corporations aren't supposed to hold districts unless it's an emergency. Bringing up Sver Prime...When a district is lost because of a massive push onto their land, the Security Corporation, depending on their policies and services, could grab the district and hold it until whatever time limit or when the STB needs the district back. Of course there would probably be a jump in the amount to be paid for this service(80 Mil ISK for clones and giving back the ISK earned would estimate to 150 Mil ISK or more, I'd imagine).
The motivation for you to NOT hold the district would be to keep your Security Corporation's name in good standing. If you're asking more about whether it would be more profitable, then the reasons behind it are that you'll gain more ISK without having to use as much resources as district owners. If the market develops significantly, I would even say it might be more profitable to become a Security Corporation than a small district owner corporation.
Also this would be an option for those who are not willing to join Alliances. People join alliances for benefits such as orbital strikes and back-up but a lot of CEOs do not want to be wrapped up in alliances and their policies which might conflict. With alliances you're working with a group of corporations and have to abide by their rules which will include areas outside of district ownership policies while security corporations work for you and you only have to abide by their rules when it comes to paying for their services for district-defense related issues.
@Kam Elto That thinking doesn't make sense with Security Corporations. There's no leeching from either side. The customer Corp is paying for back-up essentially. They still hold the district but they're paying for someone to be there for them if something goes awry. The Security corporation is there only for that purpose. They only fight when they're needed, this is what makes them a whole different beast than ringers. |

Bump. In order to get this idea to work as smoothly as possible on it's first corporation, I need some feedback people. |
