Personally, I feel that mtacs should be sort of a go between for infantry, and vehicles. What I mean by that will be explained below.
Relating to an mtacs health , and weaknesses. I personally think they should have base health of tanks , and their tier types. But be vulnerable to small arms fire , unlike actual vehicles.
A caldari mtac would have 2000 shields , and 550 armor. But rifles, pistols, and other infantry weapons would be able to deal Max damage like they normally would to other infantry, or perhaps 60- 80% efficiency.
Mtac would be able to fit light vehicle mods , and turrets . They would lack that invulnerability to light weapons that other vehicles have.
As a trade off to this, they would also be quite cheap to use, and be able to move nearly as fast as an assault suit. Also AV lock on weapons such as AV nades, and swarms would be usless due to their low vehicle signature. They would not be able home in, or lock on. Why would anyone need these anyway ? Some fluxes, and a swarm of mass drivers, or focused AR fire would deal the same amount of damage.
To me, MTAC's are not meant to be actual vehicles, but rather super heavy infantry support.

No. They need to be true vehicles and take reduced small arms damage while fitting small turrets for weapons and vehicle modules. Their speed needs to be 12m/s and be small enough to corner infantry in places tanks go but top big for small areas like corridors and doorways. |

There's a few ways we could go on this. They could be more like a MAX from Planetside, or they could be like the mechs from the matrix or district 9.
There are a few differences: The MAX is like a heavily armored infantry unit with slightly limited options and movement speed. The mechs from the Matrix have limited attack options and leave the driver exposed. The mech from District 9 is an all out killing machine with multiple attack methods that shields the driver.
I think the MAX is out, as this role is already accomplished by the heavy. The mech from the matrix leaves the user too exposed, but the mech from District 9 has too much firepower. Perhaps we have a mech with limited attack options (only small turrets) which shields the user, keeping them shielded from enemy fire. Essentially the mech would fill the role of an LAV that is capable of strafing, perhaps with a little more health and a little less speed. |

It seems they might be vehicles judging by that pic of that yellow MTAC. If they going to make them big vehicles it might be really hard to balance them, if they are big walking tanks then they can either be giant coffins or really overpowered ( like what players from ps1 said). They are many mech games CCP can take inspiration from , but those games are balanced around mechs fighting other mechs , the only games at the top of my head that has mechs vs anything else are halo 4 , battlefield 2142, titanfall , section 8 and blacklight , the last 2 are more like big heavy suits. |
