SP is not supposed to be your only or even main reward mechanism, as far as I can gather that's supposed to be isk. It's hardly accurate to say you're no longer being rewarded when you reach the cap.

Returning the fuse to what it was before they tweaked the throwing mechanics would be enough of a fix, that way if some fool does spike a grenade at his feet in terror you've still got a few seconds to get to safety.
