322. 9% 4 hours later... - in General Discussions [original thread]
People have been having trouble with the PS3's wireless since November 11, 2006. If you aren't happy with your download speeds on wireless, try to rearrange things so the PS3 has a nice straight wired route to your router. You won't even believe ...

323. Chromosome at 1080p? - in General Discussions [original thread]
GM Hercules wrote: DUST is running in 720p, so anything that supports that resolution works. Well that's just a tease. DUST could always be said to be 'running' in 720p, even if the framebuffer is pumping out 640+ù360. It could also be taken...

326. Chromosome at 1080p? - in General Discussions [original thread]
Lot of nonsense here, I'll try and clear up any confusion with a bit of layman technical stuff. First, the display your TV says it is using is not necessarily related to what the game engine is rendering at. Take your TV display info as a maximum...

327. Chromosome at 1080p? - in General Discussions [original thread]
Definitely not 1080p, but the game has either had a minor resolution bump from what was clearly subnative rendering to native 720p, or the lighting has changed in a way that makes the whole game seem sharper. It'd be nice to get dev clarification...

328. An opinion U-Turn - in General Discussions [original thread]
Most of your complaints are not about what is wrong with Dust, simply what is different. As a console FPS it's never going to be a 6,000,000 dpi mouse-off between two teams of wildly spinning cameras with guns attached. That's fine, as it has been...

329. DUST514 on PC and xbox... apperently Amazon still has it's hopes up. - in General Discussions [original thread]
Is it really that much of a leap to imagine that an Unreal Engine game with minimal optimization for PS3 is going to see ports, outside of whatever exclusivity period Sony already has for it? Here is my prediction: If the PS4 doesn't turn up fast...

DJINN leukoplast wrote: Havok engine would have been far better suited for the PS3. Havok is a physics engine, not a game engine. It's just a single component of a full engine, and according to Wikipedia, Dust is using it anyway.

People aren't complaining about the quality of Unreal 3, they're complaining that it is clearly not the right fit for this game. They're not complaining just to complain, they're complaining because the developers have moved to tweaking and balan...
