When you scan, if you tap the change weapon button it usually switches to your weapon while still showing the "scanning" animation. This happens both on the user's screen and the enemy screen. Scanning should prevent weapon switching...but gah.

Cuts through shields much more effectively than the rail rifle. RR is good against armor. Rail Rifle will most likely have some sort of kick, laser does not.
