Sadly yes, the game itself is 2.5 GB you are correct, and if I remember more correctly the update was the EXACT same amount as the game itself (downloaded game back in beginning of October)

Yes a heavy is proclaimed by CCP to be a "walking tank" if you will, but honestly being an assault guy myself I do have a sense that heavies have some kind of reduction when AR's are fired upon them. I can take down a assault guy with close to 650...
