They still have a relationship with sony with Valkyrie now though so there is still hope they can get it out but of nothing else they could send a email with a code for how much sp you have so even if you have to enter the game as a new character,...

Yes, I am not sure but I think I read that there will no longer be updates to dust so therefore it is going to get stale now until it dies. I would like to think they would continue updating at least the lobby shooter we have now.
