Well your plan is working. I didn't think much of it until I met you in PC battles... My god you've blown me out of my socks with those things! Add me to the list of haters of contact grenades. |

I will be the first to say I hate the flaylock and have never personally used it. That said, I believe there is only two or so on our squads we've been bringing that use it and it is currently how it is as much as we all hate it to some degree.
I think Cenex is frustrated at the mass use of contact grenades which is understandable. We all have our own limit to some tactics ... by god don't get me started on people throwing remote explosives at your feet for insta kills! Enough said. |

dazlb72 wrote:i didn't play in this battle and have no idea what went on. I think a few people who play this game are sick of some weapons that are being used, but at the same time you can't really complain if someone uses them. The fact is we've been going at SVER for a while and have only won one battle. That is the only thing that matters, and the only thing people will remember. SVER haven't cheated in any way by using weapons that are available to them, or to anyone in our corp. TBH I'm a bit disappointed this thread was opened, it just made us look like poor losers.
I disagree with what will be remembered portion. We've learned a lot and I would think earned the respect of our enemies on a number of these battles. If we had a tad more then the 100 clones i would think there would be a decent chance of a different outcome on who currently holds that planet. This last battle felt like crap, but I've enjoyed all the others (minus the one with lag).
Frustrations vented, lets hope issues with certain weapon balance are fixed by CCP... One day. :) |

Chesty Ranger wrote:LOL. I have the battle recorded, and icedslayer have also we will upload video probably tomorrow. So you can all watch all this "nade spam". Also got footage of you guys camping over the bridge with fraylock over watching A. Anyways you guys where pretty good sport sad to see your corp go out in salty note. Just hold dat L over your chest and carry on bro.
Spoiler OP claim is highly exaggerated.
I wished you guys had the good battles recorded where the screen goes black for a sec and neither side knows who won. Happened twice and those were the best games in my opinion. Unfortunately none of us can record at the moment.
I will point out that a kill feed is not always a clear representation of what is really being used... But enjoy the video, cause that game I sucked it up... Flux / fused grenades combo were my undoing. |

Guinevere Bravo wrote:Guys... STB as a whole do not condone or use on a regualar basis FP or Contact nades.
Wehave seen at least two or three of your guys 'camping' with said weapons whilst playing Corp matches. 9/10 they are your most effective players (Figure that!). Not once did we moan here (War forum).
So to combat said FP we run with contact nades, and now we get 'OMGAWD SVER IS SO BAD CONTACT NADE SPAM LOL'.
Well we have two choices here; 1. Either both comitt to NOT using FP or Contact nades. I will enforce this. 2. Escalate until its a pathetic 'i have more contact nades and FP than anyone else game' Which lets face it is boring.
So if you wish to 'man-up' and except the no FP or Contact nade rule then let me know, if not then be prepared to play the most boring losses of your life.
Given the exchange of mails after battle I'm surprised you didn't raise this issue if you felt it was so abused. As I have said, I'm only aware of two players that use the flaylock and to my knowledge none of our guys have used contact grenades. Your 9/10 comment seems a bit out of line given until this battle I have been top on our side and you'll never see me use them. Also our logis and heavys are often near the top on our boards. I believe camps murdered the **** out of you guys last round and that was all heavy machine gun.
I will say this thread started as a frustrated vent after a rather unpleasant battle. So let me say I still respect you guys but that battle really made me hate that contact grenade with a passion.
I hate telling my guys what to use, just as I never complained about the contact grenades in previous battles, it just gets a bit out of hand when a large number of players on one side uses a weapon that is iffy balance wise.
If the only way to prevent the mass contact grenades I saw last night is a full agreement to not use those two weapons that can be arranged, personally I prefer to just keep things reasonable and not have a large number of guys come out with the same weapon. |

So, that's a "No" I think. On second look, it appears to be a weak and uncertain "Yes".
There is nothing weak or uncertain about it in my mind. It's me saying that I don't tell any of my guys what to use or not to use normally and i'm sure we all wish that there were not some weapons in the game that could be abused in such a way so we wouldn't have to even discuss this.
It looks like CCP is addressing the Flaylock issue although i'm not sure the Contact Grenades will be fixed in PC battles (it will fix it in public matches though I bet):
http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/07/explosive-dampening-weapon-rebalancing-in-uprising-1.3/
I'm saying if the only way from having you guys stop spamming that contact grenade is to have a couple of my guys stop using the flaylock then sure, that can be arranged. On the other hand, if a couple of you roll with contact grenades and a couple of my guys have the flaylock, then honestly it seems somewhat balanced. It's just when there is mass use of one weapon that might very well not be balanced at the moment that issues arise. |
