Or at least, Large Railguns. Now, I don't want to start a thread that sounds like a tanker whining but I checked the bugs list and CCP claims they haven't been able to verify this. I was just in a match and was being struck by invisible forge rounds so naturally I moved behind a building to recover since the indicator said the shot came from in front of me. Problem is, while I was behind cover I was hit again.....and again. Each time it indicated a different source (btw before anyone says anything I am not saying this is the indicators fault or that it was messed up) and I recognized it as shots fired from above. So, I turned to the only thing tall enough and in the right place, a large tower with a highly sloped roof, and zoomed in to repay the kindness my attacker had shown me. Nothing. No icons, no suits or anything, just a roof with no one on it. I got hit again while looking at the roof and still nothing, so it had to be coming from somewhere else since the roof was vacant. Or so I thought; my tank was destroyed and I was killed, on the killers info it stated that they were 292m away from me. Perfect match for the tower I originally suspected. Sure enough I respawned about 3 feet away from my tanks charred corpse, aimed down the sights of my Exile and what do you think I saw? If you guessed a previously unrendered militia dropship and a heavy with the same name as the one that killed me you guessed correct! I called in another tank and went to go shoot this new found enemy; I zoomed in and suddenly they both just..disappeared. Suddenly no one and nothing was there, again. After a few random shots fired up there the dropship suddenly reappeared, only this time taking off from the roof. Well, I dispatched him with haste but it still didn't change the fact that the only reason I lost my tank was due to a glitch many have experienced by many that CCP says isn't happening. I am not trying to say balance this or nerf that all I am saying is can we please get some more attention and help with a bug affecting not only tankers but certain infantry weapons as well?
P.S. If any devs actually respond: It was the map with A, D, and E outside the city with objective A on the bridge, I don't know the name I don't really pay attention to that part of the spawn screen =/ I was in a Gunnlogi with an 80GJ Particle Cannon in first person view. I am using a PS3 Slim about 2 years old. If you need any more info let me know, hopefully this will help recreate the problem in testing. |

Bro, you are absolutely right. I don't know why the guys of CCP couldn't verify this bug. I know this situation you describe perfectly.
Every enemy infantry, vehicle and installation should always draw, no matter how far away. It doesn't. |

I have had this happen to me countless times and sometimes the enemy railgun tank can see me much farther away than I can see him, so I have to move closer to render and find the enemy railgun tank. Mostly this happens to me with swarms and forges though when they are on top of tall buildings or on the mountains. And generally railgun tanks can't render more than 200m away, you can see the enemy icons sometimes but you cannot render the models anyway. And blaster tanks can't render more than 100m away, which is horrible when there's swarms or forges around and you are clueless as to where they are because the shots are invisible. |
