But it just occured to me again.
How many developers does the CCP Shanghai studio have in total? We've been given numbers many times for the Reykjavik division, and even once or twice for the Atlanta office, but how many are in Shanghai?
Seems kind of odd that there'd be numbers for the other two studios readily available but not that one. |

Its not like CCP will tell us, any solid facts in this area will lead to forum wars and trolling.
And bannings many many bannings.
Because, no matter what number they say, half the negative nancies will swear blind that in thier 35 years experience in team management says its not enough, the other half will swear blind that they have worked in games development for 20 years and the number is too high, a waste of money etc.
Yeah, you're probably right.
And those same people condemn CCP for not coming here every day to take their lumps. |

When you say negative nancy, you mean "Realist" right? No, he doesn't, because some of these people were talking about Dust being doomed to die back during the builds that they now say CCP needs to bring back to save it.
THAT's who we're talking about. |

Perhaps. Perhaps Dust is doomed. Perhaps CCP will pulls its finger out and get competative and produced the amazing, innovative window into thier eve online universe. Perhaps CCP is happy just to maintain a reasonable slow but steady pace of development, getting another 7.99 each month from new and returning players wanting to buy boosters with every rapid fire expansion. I think its premature to suggest that Dust is dieing. CCP are very good at attracting curious gamers. In CCP we trust. That alone isn't enough though, and they know it as well as we do. CCP Praetorian didn't make grand pronouncements of sweeping success when he talked about Dust at E3, he talked about short term and long term fixes and enhancements aimed at making the game better NOW.
They know they have a lot of work to do, and I'm confident that they're willing to do what it'll take to make this game what it should be. |
