Update on the progress of the Mercenary Pack Refund has just gone up at http://www.dust411.com/2013/04/10/merc-pack-refund-debate-update/
Please don't use this topic to discuss the merits of either side of the debate, it's been hashed and rehashed ad-nauseum and the ball is basically in CCP's court at this stage. The topic is simply to let people know that progress is being made in finding a resolution to the disagreement. |

Sorry, it's in a petition, so I'm sharing as much as I can without posting the thing verbatim. They haven't made a statement because the details are still being worked on. The main focus here is updating people that it's being worked on, hasn't been dropped after we got a "We're looking at this" in an earlier thread and there should be more information soon.

So only merc packs purchased before the release of Open Beta (that 2 week period after the reset) will be refunded it seems.
I'd be interested in hearing whether anyone claims to have purchased Merc Packs after the beta opened while still under the original terms.
PSN Store terms were changed Jan 22 downtime as per this post so the terms only persisted a day into the open beta.
If they take this day into account, no other merc packs are eligible. I don't think anyone has ever argued that they are. |

I am imagining that will have to be taken up with Game Stop, failing to update their terms, unless CCP didn't tell them. |

There are better tear-filled copies of the topic if people need to delve into it again. This is an update with no particular preference for either side, with an article and forum link because otherwise the information isn't presently available to anyone else. |

However, that is not how Forums will work. They will discuss and rage all over the place anyway no matter what :) Tell a person not to think about something - that's what that person will think about.
It's been pretty quiet so far :p
Don't jinx it. |

Marc Rime wrote:I hope people realise that blog is not an official source. In my view the only "reliable" information is that you filed a petition, and they replied that they are working on some kind of solution. Without the original source there's no way we can tell how much of your information stems from the questions you asked and your interpretation of their reply.
You can't be sure I've filed a petition at all, honestly. You'll just have to see what happens and use it to inform your future perception of my credibility.
Marc Rime wrote:According to your post every merc pack purchased before open beta will be reimbursed (as in credited in full). Did they explicitly/clearly tell you this or was the reply in any way vague (maybe more along the lines of "we're working on a solution to compensate those who...)?
I haven't said that "every merc pack purchased before open beta will be reimbursed (as in credited in full", I've posted as close to what CCP replied with as a I can. They, in no uncertain terms, declared that they were implementing a reimbursement program for purchases from before the open beta.
Marc Rime wrote:Your post suggests they are considering SP modifications for those who get reimbursements. My guess is that you specifically asked them if SP would be modified to which they replied "we can't give you any details yet", is this the case? (I could ofc be wrong ;)) I ask because no doubt there are people going "OMG their [sic!] gonna take my SP *ragequit*". I spoke to SP modifications only because they're a point of focus for many, especially those who are against purchase reimbursement. I apologise if it read as if CCP had commented on SP reimbursements. I had hoped, in writing, that that sentence would be interpreted as saying "the details of this program cannot yet be revealed... so those clamouring for or against an SP reset will have to wait for further information". Perhaps that wasn't communicated well enough. If it wasn't already a major focus of the debate, I wouldn't have mentioned SP modification at all. |
