Hi!
I thought it might be good if I pointed out to you guys some of the things that Dust514.info has to offer. I created this website with the intention of creating the sort of website I would want to use as a player. It seems to me that a number of players would find the information that we now have on the website is presented in a good format, but not yet be aware of the site. The website has two main offerings: 1. A blog with updated news on the game, things that the fairly regular player would want to know about 2. A wiki, with easily accessible and accurate information
You can find the blog at http://dust514.info
The wiki itself is at http://wiki.dust514.info. The main thing I want to do when I am looking up weapons or equipment is to compare statistics with others. To do that in-game requires either remembering the stats as you flick between them, or take a photo and then compare. The wiki aims to make this easier by storing data for relevant items in a single, *sortable*, table.
So for example, you can order the scout dropsuits (http://wiki.dust514.info/index.php?title=Scout) according to shield, or equipment slots. Or if you're viewing the shotun (http://wiki.dust514.info/index.php?title=Shotgun) you can sort it by damage, or cpu, and easily compare the known differences between items. I think that storing information in this sortable format is of the greatest value to players considering dropsuits. Is your fitting over by 2 CPU and need to drop it somewhere? Jump on the wiki, check the stats for an item, and find the best item within your CPU limits.
The wiki is currently incomplete. It would be great to have more help on it. As of this moment, I think all the primary weapons, dropsuits, vehicles, and equipment are done. Many of the other dropsuit modules, vehicle modules, and turrets are not. If you think you can help out, then quickly edit the following page to say what you're working on so we don't double up: http://wiki.dust514.info/index.php?title=Dust_514_Wiki:Current_events
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the site! Vyzion Eyri has been doing some great contributions, including adding the stats for my beloved shotgun :) Please let me know if you can think of ways to improve the site, or if you want to contribute.
Thanks! |

Yeah, the wiki is starting to look quite great imo! Thanks for all the contributions, and Vyzion has been working very hard at it. |

I have added a link to your site in the Link index thread on the DUST University forums. Our members may find it useful.
Much appreciated, I hope others find this useful! I consult wiki.dust514.info quite frequently, so I imagine others would too, were they aware of it.
Out of curiosity, what are you referring to when you say "the official DUST Wiki"? I'm not aware of an official wiki, other than the Dust 514 entry on evelopedia. |

There's a bunch of new info for Uprising still to be added, for the various modules and equipment. However, dust 514 dropsuits are now updated to uprising stats, as well as the dust 514 skills. Be sure to check the page history to know who to give credit to (Vyzion did most of the dropsuit work, and Duckman on the skills).
And feel free to help out if you wish! If you do, I'm keeping a list here of pages that have been updated to uprising stats. |
