So I learned a few weeks ago that the scrambler pistol has 6x damage to the head. So I tried it out, this time aiming for the head and its nuts! I kill assault dudes with 1-2 shots before they can even take down half my shields. Heavies are a no brainer (no pun intended) with this thing, their heads are huge and 2-3 shots are enough. Scouts are my only problem since they are tiny, but once they get close all it takes is one good shot. 6x72 = 432 damage per shot 72 is the militia variant damage. Unless you tank your assault heavily you get one shot, otherwise two shot.

it's cool you like this stylish weapon, that's seldom use. tho the way you worded the title makes you sound whiny..

Scrambler pistol gets 450% on a head shot so that is 4.5x on a head shot with a pistol... at less than 60m
Scary yes! Op not so much... most people that chase me about with the pistol are annoying hut not terrifying
Its the ones who fully spec into it that are scary... |

Your point?
Wait till scrambler rifle comes out before making an OP thread.
The pistol is balanced by small clip, slow ROF breach models. And headshotting often requires ADS which slows your strafe/turn speed.
Its fine. |

Scrambler pistols do what they do. They have a small clip size, low PG, and CPU amount, and are strong when fired offering heavy damage against dropsuits.
If the weapon is good and you give good feedback on it, its really unethical to call it OP. |

I just said that I FEEL like its OP. I didn't strictly say its OP. I wanted to see your opinions to see if there are any drawbacks that I didn't notice. |

i would like to see it live up to it's name and cause a scramble brain effect which causes the victim to do uncontrollable random things before dying, eventually turning their own weapons on themselves to end their own misery |

i use scramblers frequently when i play and in my experience so far its kind of difficult to head shot heavies because the player model has a head that looks like its sinking into its back and shoulders yknow? kind of like its shrugging. i end up shooting the chest or shoulders 65% of the time. |

I love my scrambler pistols. I've actually specced higher into them than I have my LR (mainly cos the LR skill is bugged). On the few occasions I find myself repeatedly swamped in close quarters I just go nuts and gun people down like some crazy gunslinger.
Feels good when you take down a squad with nothing but an assault scrambler. |

I love my scramblers. So much so that I use it as my primary on my favourite suit (assault A type) with an SMG secondary to mow down the dodging jumping mercs. This set up allows me 3 complex shield extenders, armor rep, plates, and nanohive with locus grenades (keeping in mind I've maxed out circuitry and leveled some into sidearm upgrade).
It is fantastic in a lot of circumstances one on one but suffers horribly against multiple enemies due to the low clip size even with the maxed out 12 shots.
Against heavies I can usually take them out with at most 2 clips but you have to be strategic about your attack and get off at least 1 full clip before they can take aim on you (unless you have time to get some headshots in).
Shotgun scouts are a hazard but can be taken out in 2 shots before they can get in range if you're sharp enough.
My best advice would be to max out sidearm sharpshooter - that extra range does wonders. |

As someone said before, scrambler pistol is 450% damage for a head shot to shields. It's an energy weapon, so it does more damage to shields.
I believe it's 350% to armor for a head shot. Sure, it's a lot, but you have to be at close range to make it happen. It also takes a lot more skill to use than a shotgun. |

From now on I'm replacing my toxin SMG with the scrambler pistol. I will use it as a Heavy killer.
I suggest changing the title to something else I was preparing a flame post. |

Too bad you've only gone as far a militia because, you know, the standard variants are much better.
Assault Scrambler is just overall a better monster
Breach is a ridiculous OHK sometimes, but damn slow.
Burst is fun and actually OHKs people with a standing head shot, but eats ammo like a St. Bernard eats food.
I used to run a Type II Scout with the Catalyzers and Stamina Booster, with a Burst Scrambler. The only problem with the scrambler is that reduced accuracy and rate you actually use it makes it run out of ammo real fast.
You also broke the cardinal rule and that's to not make a thread about Scrambler pistols because then they actually might get used by people outside the cult. |

I killed the same heavy twice in a row last night with my KLO, I wonder if he raged. I always wonder if they rage when they die to a pistol, even moreso when I pistolwhip them. |
