Does this exist? My corp has been using Vent for 5 years or so now (and are resistant to change) and we currently have our Dust guys on PCs sit in a separate channel with vox-activate and just play this way (can't be asked to get a headset for the PS3) and it works pretty well.
I think a barrier for recruitment is that we dislike the in-game voice system and a lot of players insist on using it. Is there any Ventrilo (or other) integration with the PS3? |

Maybe with the uvt's eventually going on sale for isk, when the player market opens Sony might consider it. But I'm probably just dreaming as I want the same, I doubt it very much |

Would SONY/CCP agree to coding in a socket to the dust client that would allow us to connect to a TS/Vent/etc server? Dunno, but it's an attractive solution for integrated EVE/DUST ops, and an attractive solution for the players. |

Yea, I agree man. The only time I use EVE's in-game voice system is when I invite a random in his faction fit Vindicator to our Incursion fleet and pretend we are cooperating with him then warp out as he gets primaried by the rats. Other than that, the CCP provided voice comms are useless to me. |

as others have said, No.
But, you can always sit next to your computer and use it while you play your PS3! |

actually i'd like to see something like this too. Since a PS3 is normally meant to be in the living room (where the tv is) its a bit unpractical to have a pc next right to it. Not impossible, just impractical for many many people. |

Dust/Eve uses Vivox for voice comms. A few other games using Vivox have standalone desktop clients, but not for Eve (yet - it is frequently requested). I suppose someone could code a bridging program, even if it is just using virtual audio devices to pipe comms between the apps (I guess you could do this with only the Eve client as well while logged in with an alt). Getting your TS/Vent/etc member listing in Dust will probably never happen, though.
Alternatively, most VoIP apps have a compatible mobile version. |

Vivox does the in-game voice for both EVE and Dust, and produces C3, a PC program fairly similar to the ones you mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised if we see integration of C3. |

I have a Logitech PS3 BT headset. It works with PS3, and with a BT dongle on my PC (and pretty much any BT enabled thingamajig) - so I can use both. It works in the next room, but probably not much farther. |

^ This. The protocol already used is SIP which is commonly found in VOIP phone platforms. However if they were to allow a PC app to communicate to DUST/EVE than im sure they would also have to develop a way to ensure they dont lose profits from UVTs.
This leads me to believe a pc app for dust/eve communication will never happen. |
