One of the problems I run into playing as a loggy, is trying to revive a downed comrade and then being blown away by an enemy player or sniper while either running to or away. Something that could help out with this is giving Logistics a sprint boosters or a type of jet pack that would let us launch to a downed player, and then bounce out of the hot zone.
Now I'm not talking about giving us "backpacks with jets, like Boba the Fett" where you can fly around the field. More so something that can just give you a boost to and from the front lines.
That or give us a type of smoke grenade or smoke screen. I sometimes feel like we're back in the prehistoric ages with this game when it comes to concealment and cover. A good smoke grenade or a device that produced a smoke screen, weather it'd be an EMP that scrambles the enemies vision in that area would be a huge help. Then with that give the loggy a HUD that shows us the direction to our team mate to revive them. I think this would be a pretty awesome and epic feature in the game not really seen anywhere else when combined with the Logistics side of things.

There is already a post, actually several, about long range triage guns. I believe that will solve your problems of exposing yourself. |

There are plans for an obscuring grenade that would act like your smoke grenade. It's supposed to work by warping sight with a field of some sort. |

Miasma Grenades are coming soon! They will help with the OP's woes.
Also, @ Above poster who suggested ranged revives: Never. Ever. I furiously and vehemently opposed revives even being implemented in dust. Revives are a bad enough mechanic in shooting games. But revives that remove the risk involved in exposing yourself near a corpse? I won't even start on how horrible that is. No risk, no reward.
If you don't want to get shot while you revive someone, kill the person who killed the guy who is down! (And any friends he might have) That's the first rule of being a medic in shooting games anyways. Kill first, then revive. |

Use grenade or MD... already enough smoke to not-to-shoot... Anyway why you revive under heavy fire? |

Still very opposed to that idea. While it is a risk for a logi to go out to a downed player to revive him, It also means they made sure the coast is clear first. Meaning the newly revived player isn't immediately shot down again. If a player got shot out in the open and there's no support, then a good logi would make the call not to risk it.
If we have a nanite dartgun, all that strategy goes out the window and players will start getting revived on masses, safe or not. It's also unfair for the players who just shot them if some unseen logi can just snipe them back up again. It should be a matter of securing safe ground before reviving.
In anycase, something like smoke grenades would be great for temporary secure ground. |

It's more exciting than sitting with the people screwing you over on the redline. I much prefer to give support and revive people who are actively taking an objective.
I think everyone is missing my intention of my OP.
The long range triage gun...Hell no! I would despise how easy it would make it to be a loggy. Plus it takes the risk factor and a lot of the fun out of it. I don't mind being shot at honestly. I only get annoyed with the random Sniper and LR that is waiting for me to revive a team mate. Hell, I can deal with a sniper, its the LR that can just swipe and kill both of us with no skill whatsoever. So with that I would like a smoke grenade that you can only activate on a downed player.
SG being generally used would probably mess a lot of game mechanics up.
Same with the boost which is what I primarily want. The boost could only be activated and used to get to a down player. Nothing annoys me more than trying to get to a down player and they bleed out. |

I'm really looking forward to the miasma grenades, I think they're an awesome idea! I don't like the idea of a triage gun, both from a gameplay point of view and from a background point of view.
