Second topic regarding squad leaders. This time about how to incentive players in staying as a group.
The idea is pretty simple. Have the squad leader act as a permanent objective. Meaning that any action done nearby the squad leader would give a WP bonus. Here's the perks :
=> Pushes players, especially randoms, in staying together even if for a selfish reason. => Avoids, for more organized teams, always having to select a dude when the pack is moving so people can get bonuses. => A squad can thus have two objectives. Squad leader himself and another specific order given by him.
Now, whether or not this "squad leader objective" should give back commissions to the Squad Leader is a question i didnt manage to answer correctly. Might make OBs too frequent, or make the SL role a real WP machine. But i think the overall idea could help provide some more teamplay in the player base, especially for casuals and noobies. |

Yes yes yes!
This would also be the easiest way to know exactly who is squad leader (if you had a circle around you on the minimap it would be super obvious) |

I have thought about this by myself. I like the idea but the bonus should be somewhat lower than the bonus for SL orders. I would suggest a kind of morale bonus (maybe 5) for any succesful action performed by a nearby squadmember. So for examle If I hack an objective all squadmembers covering me should get the bonus. This will encourage teamplay. |

Well putting the defend order on yourself does kinda do this, but the putting the defend order on yourself is a PITA since it can only be done through tac map and not quick naved when putting the defend order on another squad/teammate.
But yes a symbol for SL would be nice, as would a better color scheme and different symbols for squad vs teammates.
Either way +1 this is a good idea and i hope it is implemented but the WP's are low since squad commands already generate a nice bump in SP for everyone who gets a kill within the vicinity of a defend order or squad command.
I mean we almost always get 2 strickes a match sometimes 3 and a lot of the time we arent even near each other to get the full bonuses we could be getting if we were.
A little off topic but i hope they can also add a quick selection for the precision strike if we want to simply put it over an objective or directly on top of a teammate in the area, it would be even better if the precision allowed me to select an enemy in the area i want to drop it on if a teammate had eyes on the target area at the time. |

Are you asking for the ability to put defend order on yourself? That's what it sounds like. On maps with too many objectives to keep changing the capture or defend order, I just put it on the squad player who tends to generate most war points. |

To clear things up. What i suggest is not being able to put the order on yourself as a SL. It's acting as an objective passively, without having to do anything about it.
Just to incentize people in staying close to you as it will earn them more WP. And you could still add an objective like you do now. |

As a squad leader I usually just send the order to defend me so it follows me around but this is a pain in the ass as it wastes time at the start of the match. Furthermore, I find it confuses people when i want them to change to target things and then to follow me when there are a load of messages popping up with various orders. |

The amusing thing, since the move to TQ seems like blue dots won't move unless its as part of a herd. Some matches feel like two groups of lemmings chasing each others collective tails.
Do lemmings have tails?
I agree, more squad orders or an easier way to stick it on squad leader would be nice. |

done in BF2142, extremely effective at keeping squad coherence, maybe find a way to have an active booster or equipment that allows for the squad leader to be a mobile spawn point |

i like this idea, one thing i had though of is that the defualt order (so when the game starts) would be to ralley/defend the SL and then the SL can issue orders normally and when that order is complete it will revert to back the defult defend SL |

If it's going to be Amarr then no doubt it's going to be eye candy.
It'd be neat if these Crusader suits had area effect bonuses. Like increased shield recharge rate, armor hit point amount, or increased scan radius for scouting parties. To avoid stacking, these effects would only be active if the wearer is squad commander and one would have effects cut in half if area effects from two squad commanders cross each other. |

I wouldn't mind a progressive increase per nearby squaddie. 1st gives +5, second gives +10, all 3 give +20. Thoroughly incentivises you to be near the rest of your squad at all times. |
