Hi,
I've just been watching the somewhat infamous PDIGGY22 video and noticed that generally he will not move his crosshairs once in combat. It looks as though he moves left and right and then forwards or backwards depending on what his target is doing.
I am a complete novice at this game and ANY FPS and will generally try to strafe left and right, but as I do so, I tend to move my mouse around to compensate for my strafing.
Am I doing it wrong? Is the general consensus that you bounce left and right, but try to ensure that your target remains in the centre of the screen?
In the first 5 minutes of the video I noticed that he only moved the mouse if his target was making a dash for somewhere and strafing wasn't going to keep him in the centre.
Other than a single game of doom some 15 years ago, this is the first time I've played an FPS. So anyt tips on how to play are welcomed along side an answer to the above.
Honestly, other than saying shoot when your crosshairs are over the target, any tips are welcome.

Please bear in mind my noobness to FPS (and PS3 for that matter).
DS3? ADS?
I've moved over to a Keyboard and Mouse now, and am much better than I was before, so I am just 'awful' rather than 'god awful'.
The main reason behind asking was because when I use the PS3 controller, I generally tried to aim with the right stick all the time and I really wasn't very good at it. If using the left stick to 'move' the cross hairs on and off the target, then I may very well try it again.
I have to move my PS3 from the living room into the study to use the monitor and KB/M so, whilst it works much better its a right palaver.

Curious... how is he recording the game? is it a camcorder? |

So, by the sounds of it, it is best to use the right stick when expecting someone to pop up, whereas if you are already in combat, it's best to use movement to keep them in the crosshairs?
I'm using the Laser Rifle currently and am quite enjoying it. I think the main reason being is that it allows me to 'sweep' the target, which my technical phrases for constantly over/under shooting but managing to get a few hits in between.
If I stick with the KB/M (getting the lingo down now ), should that change the way I play?
