In order to allow corps that should've been chosen for the tourney (mainly corps like mine which signed up early on and got cut off) there should be a second tier, and the winners from tier one (current competitors) should have a fight with the tier two, for double rewards.
This would be the best way to test the tournament system, and also appease the loyal players who were unfairly cut off. Thanks. |

RIP a potentially good dev company? really?
Now ask yourself, what game out there has ingame, dev supported, tournaments? 1 on my count (aside from CCP)
What game has ever sampled and expiremented with this in a BETA? 1 again Zipper, they DID end up failing royally, this much is true. But its a beta, and first time CCP is entering the FPS scene. To think any small **** up in beta is going to = fail is ridiculous. This is not a comment to OP, everyone has a right to be heard, but lets not go all dramatic here.

CCP so far has proven itself as the best Dev on PS3 currently for competitive gamers and the game isnt even on launch, because no other developer has proven they give two fucks about competitive community. |

I think something like this would be a good idea.
I would scrap the round robin idea which can drag on endlessly in internet game tourneys to the point where sometimes the person or team that can stay awake the longest will win by default.
Make the tourney double elmination. Add another 4 or even 8 corporations.
Maybe the additional corporations could fight it out with the corps from the original 16 that drop into the losers bracket. Just so those corps don't in turn get butthurt.
But from what I have seen online gaming tourneys usually are a world of butthurt and tedium no matter what. |

People seem to think that CCP intentionally screwed some of the 'best' corps over. They have a sense of entitlement that because they are one of the best corps that they automatically deserve a spot in the tournament.
CCP said it was first come first serve. Imo it would have been much worse if CCP had denied smaller corps who got their apps in first in order to make room for a bigger or more well known corp. |

You make a good point. NO Corps are entitled to automatic inclusion, regardless of Corp Battle results. I just wish CCP had made it clear from the get go that they were separating Regions, as Tritan could have applied for EU also, just like many other Corps.
Thats the whole point, they didn't know either.
CCP are making this up as they go along and are making decisions based on issues as they crop up as it's nothing something that plan around if they don't know it's an issue in the first place. |

so the first corps to sign up isn't right? the way people are going about it, like they should of been chosen, life isn't fair get over it. Just because i apply for a job doesn't mean i'll get it. |

Guys, let me make something clear. I don't give 2 f***s about the best corps getting in or not. But the 3-5 Corps that were originally in the tourney, but kicked for EU corps have been unfairly treated, especially since they'd already gotten their acceptance email. |

i asked CCP Frame about this in IRC, he said that the manpower to go into the current level of the tourney would be a lot as it is, doubleing the size or making another tier would require a lot more work |

Guys seriously. Get over it. It's their first tournament and it's closed beta... I don't understand all this complaining over a closed beta tournament... If you did't get in go find something else to do with your life. If the game was released I would understand the moanfest but cut CCP some slack. Dust is a work in progress and I can only assume this tournament is part of the development process. |

You're completely correct except for the fact that it WASN"T first come first serve. Even though our application was in because the NA slots were filled we didnt make it. Something that no one had any clue about until yesterday. |

Its a learning experience for everyone, and its in --closed-- beta.
CCP so far has proven itself as the best Dev on PS3 currently for competitive gamers and the game isnt even on launch, because no other developer has proven they give two fucks about competitive community.

this is true i believe MGO as well ot 100% on that one tho.
man i missed kz2 , best clan support ive seen in a game yet CCP contract system is similar but needs to give us the opportunity to run player owned tourneys with ISK payouts like KZ2 did. If this not planned for release this needs to be in for gladiator arenas |

Blizzard?
But I agree on the other points you've made. Anyways, some fuckups can be attributed to being new to the genre, others can just be ignorance. |
