Greetings,

Mind you I will still fly entire salvos into a building, but when I know the swarm is there, I will turn such that I am broadside to the swarm and flying away from it. When this is done right, you can take a viper and withstand a full load from a Wyrakomi launcher.
Your dropship flies just a bit slower than the swarm, and what happens is that the swarm will follow you until it either hits something or runs out of fuel (This is a small map, so what seems like infinite fuel is not really). When the swarm get's a certain distance from the target it does a maneuver called 'Terminal Phase Pop-Up'. Now, because your dropship is moving in more than one direction when this happens the Swarm falls behind and drops back into chase mode. This process repeats every few seconds before a single missile hits, and the process continues a few more seconds before the next missile hits, etc. etc. Eventually you will get hit by each missile unless your orbit flew them into buildings or ran them out of fuel, but they will be spaced about 15 - 20 seconds apart.
Now, each missile in the Swarm does 350 damage, but if you have level 5 in your shield recharge skill (Shield Operation?), your DS will recharge that 350 damage in about 15 seconds.
Quote:Basic fitting for Eryx Missle Turrets x2 Power Diagnostic System x2 Sheild resistance amplifier x4
Not a bad fit, but it is a bit sub-optimal... A better fit; Missile Turrets x 2 Power Diagnostics x 2 Shield Resistance Amplifiers x 2 Damage Control x 1 Shield Recharger x 1
Resistance amplifies do stack, but they take a stacking penalty, so the first one reduces the damage by 25% (Using the best one), the second one by another 12.5%, the third by 6.25%, and the fourth by 3.125, for a total of 46.875%
By changing it to my fit, you get, the first one reduces the damage by 25% (Using the best one), the second one by another 12.5%, the damage control gives 19% for a total of 56.5%... But you also get 10.5% recharge from the two power diagnostic systems (they also have a stacking penalty so the first is 7%, the second is 3.5%) and another 14%(???) from your shield recharger for a total of 24.5% boost to your shield recharge rate (Which should put you somewhere around 30 DPS rechgarge (Not counting your skill bonuses of course). |
