I can not hear then when using my gaming headphones. While not a make or break deal, It would be something I would like to have to help with the competitive edge. I love the game so far. |

Dont know if its fact, But i dont think we are really supposed to hear too much of the world around us. To me, Sometimes it sounds like its closed off, Like we are wearing ear protectors or something.
I dont know. But yeah, I like to be able to hear footsteps. |

I love the game so far. They are not important, because Dust is going to be a very team based game, and in the future when we will all be running in corps, there will be no(or very little) lone wolfs, so hearing footsteps will not be important.
It is important if you are playing games like Cod, where sneaking up and stealthy game play is common, which is why the Ninja perk is included to make footsteps silent. |

what does hearing footsteps have to do with lone wolfs? as a competitive player sound is important, its all about awareness and directional sound.
how is hearing footsteps and directional sound in general taking away from teamwork? if u hear something in a certain direction ppl will alert their teammates that seems to help teamwork tbh
And to the ppl saying "oh hes got a spiffy helmet hes suppose to block out all sounds" thats utter bs. What soldier goes into war/battle and SEALS OFF ALL HIS SURROUNDING SOUNDS?! please inform me id love to hear how is that even remotely intelligent to do that |

Agree with OP. Hoping its because they haven't finalised the sounds. Footsteps would help the terrain feel solid too.
