Should a rep tool to weapon switch be equal to decloak to fire?
I've been running logi in squads of newer players to give them a chance of more survivability while giving some instruction.
I hear the decloak, I start to switch and before my weapon comes up...BLAM!. Bad scouts are no problem but against proto... Any advice would be golden to me.

You're proto Gal everything so I imagine logi as well? If so skill into the scanner and start scanning those scouts.

Working on skilling galogi up and have scanners pro.
I guess I'm looking more for logi fits taking into account current scout meta.
All my cores and eq are maxed. Finding the best overall fits have me a bit frustrated and seeking advice. This is a new role I'm trying to take more serious.

Doesn't matter what you do, the scouts with dampeners can beat you.
Your only option is to pay attention to your flanks/rear when scouts are around and hope you catch them as they try to approach.
But at best it's an imperfect solution, and that's why you see so many people running scouts.
That said, what I do with my Gal Logi scanning suit is to run two 200m scanners, and if I have some margin of error, I use my third Duoville Focused to try and pick them up. If that doesn't do the job, the only thing that will catch them is good eyesight and situational awareness. Configuring your monitor so the cloaks show up better helps, but only so much. |

Instead of immediately switching to a weapon:
Jump
Turn 180 degrees in the air.
Circle strafe backwards. As you pull out your weapon.
This will create distance in between you and the scout, plus force him to aim more precisely.
It may not be perfect, but it gives you a better chance.
Thunderbolt. verb and noun.
