A lot of veterans are running out of things to skill into. I don't really have any pressing need for SP anymore. I'm hoping we can get some new things into the game soon.
To me, the motivation to play should be "fun", not "skill points". If we're not delivering fun, we've got more work to do. I think I can understand that to a certain degree, though its a matter of perception. In many respects players bought Boosters because they knew the could cap and get the most bang for their buck. Now it takes days of constant playing to cap (I'm never able to cap even at 180K) so if players cannot max out their SP buying boosters is somewhat perceived as a waste even if total SP gains are greater than that standard 180K + Booster.
I think it's quite the opposite actually. If you capped and still had a booster running, you basically wasted whatever time was left on that booster since the additional benefit you get from it is negligible post-cap.With a higher cap, it makes it more likely that your booster will run out before your cap, meaning you gained the full benefit the booster had to offer.
I mean think about it, ignore the fact that there is a cap for a second. You will play a certain amount every day for 7 days each week. Your purchase a booster that will last for those 7 days. If there is no cap, you will guaranteed get 100% benefit from that booster has to offer. Now assume that your playing habits don't change, but you cap out on day 5. Now your booster is running for 2 days while you're still playing on day 6 and 7, but offering little benefit, so you've now wasted 2 days of booster.
It is 100% perception and the fact that people used capping as sort of goal to reach for. Once they reached the cap, they felt they were accomplished for the week and could stop playing. The fact of of the matter is that the average person's playing habits did not increase in 1.9 to meet the higher cap, so even though they're getting *the exact same amount of benefit as they were before* (if not more for those who played after cap in the past), they feel like they're getting less because they fail to reach that goal of capping for the week.
In other words, your earning potential went up, your boosters are effectively increased in value for those who used to cap out every week, and any sense of "less benefit" is completely in your head. Oye....people cry for removal of the SP cap and when thy basically do that, people still are dissatisfied. Goes to show it's impossible to make everyone happy.
