What you've just described is you getting shot from YOUR redline, or just outside it.
You DO realize the difference between Proto and Militia snipers is only 20 damage right? Kind of invaidates your "maxed out madrugar" abstraction that makes no sense.

Standard gear is so close in damage it's actually pointless to upgrade your weapon tier... Thales are the only anomaly in the package.

Or CCP just reduced chances to salvage it, idk... need some clarification on that. Mostly it's pure random luck, you can stay entire battle, be Gäû1 by kills & WP and salvage "awesome-nothing", or jump-in just for few seconds and with 0 kills & 0 WP get several officer weapons. Snake Sellors Hellstorm Inc General Tso's Alliance 432	Posted - 2014.09.07 15:10:00 - [9] - Quote tar 07 is the thales rifle. i can honestly say in my entire time on dust i have only ever come across 15 of these in my salvage. whereas i know some people that have over 70 of them and still pick them up regularly. as far as i can see it seems as though the officer weapons are a lure to get players to buy boosters or at least spend their sp. my reasoning here is this. everybody i know that pick up these weapons regularly, does not have sniping maxed out. the ones who get most of them still can't use them. i put my sp straight into sniping, i knew it would be my chosen playstyle so went for it. the first 9 of them i got within the first couple of months. then around december 13 i got three more. i got a another three last month. i have been playing for over a year now. i play alot. i pick them up in threes which means that it's averaging at the moment for me, 1 pick up every 6 months. that is not the case for everybody. i am fully skilled into sniping, it took about 3 months. (no boosters, learning the game etc.) coincidence?

When you do find them they will likely evaporate quickly if you aren't in a hidey hole deep in the red line. The weapon has an incredibly negative stigma that attracts orbital strikes on your head. You are better off learning to headshot with any of the other rifles, and if you really want dat alpha, the charged sniper has the same alpha damage with the drawback of having to be charged.

Thales are the only anomaly in the package. Thales has a higher range than the other rifles making it hypothetically possible to stick far out of range of other snipers. Although I agree on the whole not a lot of difference between standard and proto SR and TSR, the thales and charged do have a significant one up on ohkoing suits especially with a head shot. For example my kalakoital SR won't one shot head shot Caldari Assaults with at least 300-400 shields and 100-200 armor but a charged or thales will ohko head shot them. As for other weapons, the biggest buff for standard rifles and sidearms is typically not the additional damage but the increase to optimal range.

It was some Asian guys... My point was, someone using one seems to matter for salvage. As for range, getting a ohk at 400 meters is b.s. Rail tanks and forge guns can only do damage to 300m. A calmando shield and armor tanking >300 meters past the ENEMY redline (dovallass) is only vulnerable to a calmando with max prof three damage mods and a Thales or charged sniper rifle and a headshot within optimal range if their smart. All while being able to kill anything within 200-300 meters of their redline. Now snake be honest is this broken? Lonewolf till I die
