So, we had a few matches. First was Dom which he has never been a fan of so I switched to skirm only.
Final FUBAR was getting the drop on a tanker that was teamed with two others and then his first two shots didn't register* while the opposing Red of course had all of his hit. Taking my friend out.
He said, "It was good to hang out but this game stinks. They need to fix some bugs before I'll try again". Then he left to play World of Tanks, described as a good game where guns work, followed by a laugh and then Sony told me he logged off.
Fun. Dust? Not so much.
* rail guns fail to fire. This has been at its most severe during 1.0 as they actually would never fire unless the turret was left in the default position which meant you had to aim with the tank itself (not a good option in Dust). In 1.7 they changed the focus on not working to randomly failing in several different ways. Since they have stopped working on 1.8 bugs that means this 1.7 bug is just another Feature in Dust to HTFU about.
And so it goes.

WoT is a much better WoT than 1.7 aka Dust WoT has turned out to be.
And so it goes.

Magnus Amadeuss wrote:It is a free game, and for what it cost to play it is immensely fun. Sure there are still a bunch of imbalances and bugs, but it is getting better all of the time.
(sure the FotM overpowered stuff is still as annoying as ever, but the floor on the worst of dust is definitely rising. I am not saying they are where they need to be yet, but for 0 dollars I am quite happy with the amount of entertainment I get.) Not sure where you are finding fun when the FOTM is shotgunning from cloaked and tanks have weapons that don't always fire.
For the price it is rare to find a game that will give you this much cardio I do admit. However, cardio through fun versus DustRage(tm) is actually a better target.
This game was not free to many of my friends. We all coughed up Merc Packs and whatever else to help CCP pay to develop the game we originally believed in. Interestingly enough, not to you no doubt, but every single Merc that used to argue with me about staying with Dust has now left.
Except me. I explain it to my wife that Dust is like male solitaire to me. I don't smoke, drink or hang out in bars with my friends. Here I get to blow stuff up and BS with my few remaining friends in squads on Dust. When there aren't any on, I leave and play games on Steam. Their price per hours of fun is actually much better than anything the Rage Producers from Iceland can do.
And so it goes.

Supernus Gigas wrote:That kind of tank density really hardly ever happens though. I usually only see a couple tanks on one team per match, sometimes they get up to four maybe five(rarely ever though). But never any more than that. The norm for me is zero to two tanks.
This "tank spam" has really died down significantly over the past while, and really isn't much of a problem anymore in my experience. I agree with you on tank density. The most I have seen of late is ~5-6 and those are maybe one to three times a day. Then it is back to a few on each side.
With any luck, it is me and one other on my side and two or three Reds that keep calling in Sica and Soma fits that are absolutely convinced they can take down my Maddy.
Although today I did get popped by a guy and he sent me hate mail (wtf?). Claimed I was cheating. Quite funny all in all. I tore him up a few times and I popped his team mates (not sure if they were in squad) but didn't take him out. Maybe he will QQ here and we can all point and laugh.
And so it goes.

Shinobi MumyoSakanagare ZaShigurui wrote:Yeah it's buggy right not , were going threw some technical problems right now ... among other thing's but to tell you the truth , when this game get's fixed ( now it shouldn't be such a hard problem seeing the input from the community but they might not be finding it during their checks ) it's going to be nice and it would be better to get those issue's solved than to have extra content for me but I can understand how people can say otherwise seeing as how that bring extra bug's .
It's going to get better and when it does then no one would have anything to complain about besides , like myself .. having SP's in useless area's because of the changes of 1.8 .
I shouldn't have to suffer because of game changing changes at the drop of the hat , that changes the direction of the game. Well you will get no argument from me about the sudden directional changes from CCP/Shanghai. I lost nearly a year and a half on this character. Sequence was; Gallenti Sniper, Minmatar Logi, Amarr Heavy, Armor Tanker. The basis of everything was Minmatar Logi. Every single reason I chose that race and vocation (?) was removed in 1.8. I complained when the leaked info came out, CCP said not to worry my pretty little Merc head because it was not final yet. Except what we got in 1.8 was exactly what the leak showed.
This is not an RPG. I was sold a bill of goods on this game. An MMO,RPG,FPS F2P with decent valued Packs on PS Store. Everything changes though. And not for the better.
As a retired programmer I do have an issue or two with your when this game get's fixed comment. I cannot recall if you are a tanker but I switched sometime after Uprising. I expected to leave tanks behind at 1.7 but everything else was worse. So here I am.
Anyway, the point. Sometime after 1.0 came out we had massive reduction in visibility for turret. Couldn't see past 300m, 200m on a bad map (lots of elevation changes). Send us a video, show us where it happens, we cannot duplicate this and other BS from CCP/Shanghai. How couldn't they duplicate something that every single tanker experienced every single time we looked through a turret? Six months we put this line and then in 1.7 they fixed it. Nothing in the forums. No posting was updated that said, Thanks for your patience and we found the problem. Nope, release note, single line - fixed bug in turret draw distance.
Just one issue. Six months of stone walling and/or pure falsehoods. I really don't know which.
Hit detection. Terrain mesh/map issues still. Forge Gunners being able to shoot through solid walls and through corners while being impervious to return fire. Railings that cannot be fired through. Now, Combat rifle will not auto reload often. All tank large turrets will fail to fire at all, related to module activation supposedly. In addition they also fire by themselves, emptying the clip and overheating the gun - which the tanker cannot do.
The list seems endless, even though I know it isn't. But I do know this. They are not going to do anything about any of these bugs. They have quit responding to 1.8 problems, except three last I read. So 1.7 issues are toast. Fan fest is very soon so nothing but fan fest will get resources even if they had the idea they should fix a bug or two.
So, No. When this game get's fixed, isn't gonna fly with me.
Sorry for the lengthy reply.
And so it goes.
