The IoP is a piece of crap. it needs a big buff.
The Scrambler pistol needs to be handled delicately, though. The new ROF threw me off at first, but once I got used to it it's still a decent gun. The ROF could stand to be just a little bit higher, though.
The car-9 burst is really great too. the increase in range made that weapon almost godly. I just wish there were basic and proto versions of it.

It might not have exactly the ROF of the old 1.7 Scrambler pistol (its close), and it certainly doesn't have the range, but you can mimic the play style with some success of the old 1.7 SCR Pistol with it.
That being said, right now sidearms are inferior to light weapons, which they should be. IMO Submachine guns, both magsec, and regular, are > than all pistols, so there is a balancing issue there, but its not overly excessive. Tweaks need to be done, not massive beatings by the nerf/buff bat.
I agree with the fact that light weapons have to be better than sidearms. A ScP with the range it has now with the old ROF would be broken. It's still a functional weapon, when all is said and done. ScP is fine where it is at, along with the breach variant.
I'd fully support the assault variant having the old ROF but with the downside of a reduced headshot bonus. A sidearm shouldn't fire that fast with the range of an AR and get the headshot bonus.
The burst variant should have better hipfire too.
The flaylock and Ion still suck massive balls, but the bolt pistol works just fine for what I want out of it. Buffing the bolt too much could easily make it OP for a sidearm.
About the SMGs being better than the pistols, I can't agree wholeheartedly to that.
The SMG is useful in more situations, namely finishing off targets in armor damage quickly as well as for tracking fast moving targets. Considering the higher TTK you come across the need to finish off targets with your sidearm more often, and the large influx of scouts means that there are many more fast moving targets.
The ScP is unmatched for dropping targets quickly due to the headshot multiplier. That's why I use it with my LR fits instead of my SMG. any situation where I'll need to use a sidearm that can drop things quickly I highly favor the ScP even still.

2/4 pistols are still absolutely amazing sidearms - if you want to shoot faster take a SMG.
Agree wholeheartedly. If you want a weapon that is able to throw enough rounds downrange to melt everything fast use an SMG.
Pistols reward accuracy and planning. The bolt is very useful as it gives people the ability to drop targets at a distance without using the light weapon slot the ScP is unmatched among the sidearms for its ability to drop enemies quickly. But that requires getting the headshot.
