The scrambler pistol was nerfed horribly, but if this is brought up, it's said that it still has the highest DPS of the pistols. But that's just because all of the pistols are terrible now, and there is no reason for that.
If for example the Ion pistol had the same rate of fire as scrambler pistols had before, and scrambler pistols and bolt pistols got their damage boosted 30%, then maybe they would be in a good place. Flaylocks used to be amazing, maybe they should be again.
The lack of a decent sidearm really has made this a miserable game for me, especially as a user of Amarr Logistics suits.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

I've seen two threads asking for light weapons that are exactly the same as some new sidearms, except more powerful. This tells me that others like the pistols in theory, but would like for them to be more powerful.
I just want a sidearm that is semiautomatic, with more than 500 RPM, with more than 50 damage. I don't care if it ends up being the ion pistol or the scrambler pistol.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

The flaylock and ion pistols need some serious love but I can't speak for the bolt pistol.
Remember, these are sidearms. They have less fittings costs than light weapons and so are rightly less powerful but not by much. I've mained ScP for the entirety of Uprising and even most of Chromosome (maybe longer, can't remember).
It sounds like what you really want is an automatic pistol. You want to be able to spam 9 scrambler shots a second? That's practically a whole clip. It's supposed to be a precision weapon, not spray. You want to make the most of it, that's why it gets such an amazing headshot bonus. If you're struggling to make it useful since the ROF change, you need to learn how to take your time and aim better to get those all important heashots.
You have offended me by implying that I cannot aim. I would challenge you to a duel if that was still legal. I don't like automatic weapons, except for the laser rifle, because they have kick, and place lots of importance on aiming. I have goten used to the rate of fire. I can aim just fine. I could also aim fine before, and I would be able to put all of my bullets into one person in the time you stated, and kill the person quickly. Now I often can't do enough damage to a scout when I see it coming, to kill it before it kills me. I can still do that with a standard Scrambler Rifle, though, which has LOWER fitting costs than the Carthum Assault Scrambler Pistol, except for 1 pg.
I don't think it should be required to get head shots to be decent.
I liked using the scrambler pistol before, because it was good at close range, and I would use the laser rifle for long range. There isn't really a sidearm with great range, or else I would use the Scrambler Rifle more.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.
