A lot of our content is player driven. With some elements currently borked (PC) there is really nothing that we can do to really change that. So what I'm asking is it possible if we as a community did something? Maybe even using a PC district (if possible) to set the teams and armor correctly. And expand it over the fight of an entire world. This would require the cooperation of others I understand but just to do something beyond the senseless grind.
During this time we would have a few contributing to in character stories, or anyone who fights can add their in character perspective on it. Such as the why's in which they've come to fight. If CCP won't give us these things we have to do it ourselves. To create something fun and dynamic, that changes.
I'm not all that optimistic in getting this to work as most like their districts firmly locked and able to generate ISK. But that doesn't do much right now. It doesn't make the game actually any fun. It would be more to do than just proto stomping public matches. Bring out your best gear here. Fight in the context of a story being told. The only thing that keeps me in Dust is its connection to Eve and the lore. Even if we only do one event, even if it is not successful we can at least say we tried.

PC mechanics simply don't play well with what you want. Aside from the locking faggotry going on, it simply does work as a war across planets, really.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

If I understand what you mean then your idea reminds me of something a while ago called Planet Fight Club If I remember the name correctly The problem with that and with your idea is that it does nothing to fix whats broken in PC and people can still just sit on their districts while claiming they have the interests of the game in mind because hey one planet isnt locked up
Kind of reminds me of the opening monologue in MGS4 actually, essentially the war is monitored and kept under control while others keep making a huge profit
I'll start my own war, with hookers, and blackjack!
In fact forget the war and the blackjack.

I didn't intend it to fix the changes to the system, only CCP can do that. But to give us more content even if we have to make it. Unlock a few worlds, most have more than enough ISK than they will ever need. New Eden can be about telling sweeping sagas. Even if it is fighting over a few districts on a world with no fleet support what so ever. The point of the matter is we are actively trying. CCP doesn't seem to want to give us more content just endless grinding away in a F2P lobby shooter. But it's connected to a much deeper setting it would be a shame to let that potential go to waste.
Well at least it was attempted before, so that is something. |
