Honestly, I think it only needs a range nerf, a limit on how many times you can use it in one life, and an elevation nerf. For example, if you point the scanner straight forward,it only scans people on the same level of elevation, rather than getting people who are below you and above, but if you aim the scanner in either an upward or downward angle then only then can it scan others in multiple elevation by sacrificing some of the full range of the scanner. Also it must make the users aim stationary so people don't nod there scanner up and down. The scanner prevents any flanking even from scouts so games like ambush turn into trench warfare where only the team that's scanning can advance. It needs a limited use too. In Black ops (yes I know, call of duty eww) if the enemy got a black bird (this put you on the enemy radar at all times) you were finished and even then you probably only see the enemy call it in one time to finish your team off as it required someone to get nine kills in a row, but in dust you've given people the ability to have it right from the start with unlimited use all through out the game so I propose you either make it a flash of the enemy for 1 sec with unlimited use or for the scanner to keep the enemy on the radar for whatever amount of time it already leaves them on the radar for,with only 1 use for basic,2 advance,3 for proto. But what I really want to see brought into the game to combat scanners, is a jammer. It should send out a circular EMP sort of blast, like the scan ring on the LAVs, and instantly jam the enemies radar. It should have a range similar to the scanner and last at about half the time a scanner stays active and when the effects of the jammer run out, the enemies radar returns back to normal but say if they had a scan on the enemy before, than the effect of the scanner should be destroyed by the jammer as well. It should have everything I stated about the scanner above and you, CCP, can even introduce modules that no one will use like you did with the dampeners to combat the jammer. Suggestions for how the scanner or jammer should work are welcome. This a community and more importantly, Just a videogame. The more things that get abused the more players you drive off |
