We've been having a discussion about this here, but it needs a spot in the Feedback/Discussion section for proper discussion and visibility.
Challenge medals for doing well in a match would be an interesting means of adding several new things to dust using data already automatically collected. I'm going to try to avoid referencing how other games do this because other games typically throw ribbons/medals/trophies/[insert whatever name for them you are familiar with here] at you that have nothing to do with working to win a match or working to help your team/squad. People then start to focus on trying to grind out medals rather than worrying about how well the team is doing, and this is no good in a very team-based tactical shooter. However, if you put productive challenges with small but helpful SP bonuses that do not count towards your skill cap into it, then having people focusing solely on medals wont be a big issue while the medals still remain attractive.
For example:
Infiltrator Medal: "Hacked x# objectives in one skirmish" +200SP
King of the Hill Medal: "Hold objective for xminutes in a domination" +200SP
Master of Defense Medal: "Prevent the enemy from hacking xobjective for an entire skirmish" +350SP
Point Defense Medal: "Killed x# enemies within 20m of an objective" +100SP
Slayer of Men Medal: "Get x# kills within 3 minutes" +150SP
Grey Matter Splatter Medal: "Get x# headshots in one match" +175SP
Master Chef Medal: "Kill x# enemies with grenades without your grenades touching the floor" +150SP
Vehicle Suppression Medal: "Deal xdamage to enemy vehicles in a single match" +200SP
Master of Medicine Medal: "In a single match, revive x# people and repair them to full armor"
Keep the kill based medals set around 10-20 kills per, something that you will likely be able to do in one match but doing twice in one match would be challenging. The small SP bonus you get for each reward shouldn't be very high, just enough to help bump your SP payout up a bit if you manage to accomplish 2-3 in a match thus feeling like the grind isn't as bad once your weekly SP is all earned up.
This would help people grind a little more SP after capping their SP for the week, but since they are things you typically aim for during a match anyway you don't really take away from teamplay by going for them. It's more of an accomplishment system rather than a "pull off this stupid stunt and have a shiny pin for it" system like you see in many other games.
The ones I listed above are single player rewards, but squad-based variants could be done as well with higher rewards to encourage squad play. Like "every member of your squad killed at least x# of enemies" or "your squad killed x# of enemies within y#meters of an objective" or "every member of your squad scored at least x# of WP in a match", [insert your own ideas here].
It would be a way to help foster more interest in playing after capping since you have goals to work for that you can have a visible representation of to show off. Finishing the challenge one time isn't the point, you can collect the medal multiple times and receive the SP bonus every time. Since the more duplicates of a medal you have the more times you've completed the challenge, you increase your battle record for having more of them.
As long as you make it to where you can see all of another person's medals and the number of them they have, it would be a good way for corporations to check out a players personal record when recruiting them as well. You will be able to see what they are good at and what they are capable of accomplishing on a regular basis based on the number of times they have cleared individual challenges. Squad based challenges would be a good way of determining a person's teamplay ability and may also be a good recruiting tactic, having a person join the corp's squad and seeing if they can keep up and clear the challenge with the corp's squad.
TL;DR: Gives you collectibles to show off, helps you grind SP better after capping, gives you a battle record beyond K/D, WP, W/L & lifetime SP for corps to look at when considering your application, gives you a more detailed record to show off and be proud of.
Note: I copy/pasted a lot of this from my original posts in the linked thread

Holy hell Cross, haven't seen you in several months! Hop things are well bud.
I threw out those quick examples without putting much detail into them so they could be openly interpreted by whomever read it. If you get too technical in the OP you end up loosing peoples interest and they give up on the thread before they finish reading the first post lol
As for single player rewards, I think those should be in the game because even though this is a team-based game, gaining personal accolades always feels good and makes you feel that your time wasn't wasted. They can be minimal achievement (hack one objective) minimal reward based (+5sp +500isk), in which case they should not be reset or capped, just something you earn as you play. They can be small achievement (5 kills) small reward (+50sp +5,000isk) based, in which case you should be able to earn them up to a certain number of times per match. They can be medium achievement (dealt 50,000 to enemies & enemy vehicles and installations) medium reward (+500sp +50,000isk), in which case they need to be reset daily. Or they can be big achievement (hacked and flipped 50 objectives) big reward (+5000sp +500,000isk) based, in which case they would likely need to be reset every week or so. A smattering of each would be nice, seeing visible rewards as you earn them pop up on screen feels far more rewarding, especially to people moving in from other games, than waiting until your results screen to see your total payout. A mid battle acknowledgement that you are doing well beyond the simple +25/+50/+100/etc. It gives new players something to strive for while integrating into the game other than not getting pubstomped.
I'll write more later, gotta take care of some stuff. Good seeing you again Cross. o7

Beef Supreme 4 wrote:Or another suggestion, make them harder to get and rotate the set you can earn every month. And each one you get is displayed in some way to other players. interesting thought, but a basic implementation would go much quicker than starting it off on a rotating schedule.
