Plasma Cannon Battle of Shame - PS Move
Looking past the humorous entertainment value of this clip I filmed yesterday, the ending demonstrates an interesting point I'd like to call to attention. That is, it appears projectiles do not register damage at moment of incapacitation. At the moment my clone died I was able to fire a direct hit of my plasma cannon on a medium frame, or lower, sniper fit suit. The blast would have surely decimated the target however, it appeared to inflict no damage.

A fully cooked grenade also disappears. The rail rifle can fire off shots after you have killed an opponent. this mechanic needs attention |

All factors need to be addressed because there isn't consistency.

This has happened to me soooooo many times. Thanks for providing video. CCP please fix the plasma cannon. It's already hard enough to play with the PLC, what with all the rifles that kill you in under a second. It would at least be nice if the thing worked 100% of the time. Thanks!

I have checked the video carefully. You can spot that 33s in the video shows that the player you hit was close to dying. The issue that some weapon donGÇÖt make damage though I am still investigating.

I had to download a frame by frame extension for chrome to see this, but i think the possibility of the shot legitimate missing exists. The cursor starts out on target, just before the charge up. As the attack charges the cursor drifts down slightly, and to the right. Just before launch the cursor is brought up, but it is now exactly on the lower right edge of the torso. It gets a little hard to see here, but i think at the time of firing, the cursor is directly above the lower right edge of the mercs torso, but because of the way the model is positioned, its upper body is leaning to the left, letting the shot miss by a fraction of an inch.
If the projectile would have had a 'width' then the shot would have hit, instead of grazing just past the edge of the targets model, hitting the crate beyond.
We know the shot was considered a miss by the target not getting vaporized. At 33s it shows the hitpoints of the target (210 shield, 120 armor). The 285 splash of a PC would have almost killed him, like we saw.
