So I'm a SCR user and I've noticed something a little odd about hit detection. I rely on charged shots to either OHK suits or at least leave them with 1 or 2 HP left. Now I know when I've missed a charge shot, but recently I've noticed there have been times where I have CLEARLY missed an enemy (my RDS is clearly behind the player when I release the charge shot) only to be surprised as their body falls limply to the ground. Yeah a kill is a kill, but it just feels cheap - I missed the dude ffs.

I think something is wrong with the hit detection too. I had similar experiences with rail rifle. People dropping instantly when I shoot in front or behind of them.
Maybe it is just lag?
Doesnt matter in Dust 514: PC. FW Standing. Tanking Type. Other mods than DMG or HP.
Does matter in Dust 514: Rifles.

It's a combination of hit-detection, auto-aim and lag. Sometimes I get kill points 1-2 seconds after I stopped firing at someone because by the time the server catches up they had been in my line of fire for a few milliseconds.

This might be related to killing someone after you've died.

I feel exactly the same way. this was one of the issues I posted last night. |

Yeah seen this while both sniping and using a scrambler pistol. Shot wildly cause cornered at close range, clearly didn't aim at body about 1/2 foot away... THUDD... headshot noise occurs. I look down in confusion at corpse.
At a distance shots that should clearly have hit tend to miss as well... Sometimes you shoot in front... sometimes behind the target in order to actually hit the target.

and to some extent, (dare I say it) the shotgun.

I want to say this has happened more times to me with the shotgun than any other weapon. I'll shoot someone and by the time my shot registers they've already killed me with the 2-5 more bullets needed to kill me.
Kind of annoying, but at least they still died in the end.

I believe it is. Prior to 1.7 I had NEVER gotten a simultaneous kill on someone and died as well. Now it's happened to me about a dozen times. There was definitely a change here.

Sounds like hitbox latency.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I've experienced this in the other direction, with my shots failing to register on stationary targets in the center of my reticule. I'm using a Laser Rifle GÇö there is no kick or dispersion. If I can see the beam hitting you square in the chest you should be taking damage.

At first i was ascribing it to some cheesy and over-powerful AA effect for non-auto weapons.
It seems possible that it could be hitbox lag or maybe network latency. Hard to tell, tbh.
I support SP rollover.
