Not a suggestion more a question, and yes I know you can bring up the chat screen and chat there while in a battle.
I realize not many people pay attention to team chat when it comes to fighting, nobody has time for it nor do we have much time to reply, it's an issue if you think about it when it comes to fighting alongside EVE players, what happens if the EVE player is on mic and wants to help out? We can speak to them but they won't reply because of a lack of mic, and not many of us will bring up the chat to read.
So I was wondering if anyone had an idea how to display team chat during the battle without it taking up any space on the screen as that would be a major issue, perhaps a notification? I'm not sure how it would be approached but I'm quite sure it should be discussed as it would be very useful for players that want to play with EVE players but not have to keep opening the chat to see if anyones replied.

A player of eve has a mic embedded in their computer. As long as you click team chat before battle you will be able to hear them. If you have a mic, I imagine talking to an eve player would be equivalent to talking to a squad mate using push to talk.

So all EVE players have computers with built in mics? That's funny, because my computer does not and so when I played I spoke to people using the text chat...
I understand that EVE players will be able to use our team chat, one of the best things about the patch, but my issue is with text chat, is there a way to make it visible without taking up much screenspace, or a notification when someone has said something in team chat.

That would actually be a good idea if a way was found to do that and not take up to much space, or a notification if someone is trying to invite you to a squad. I normally get invites from people outside of battle while I am in one but don't see it until later.

While that may not be possible, what would be great is if they could just leave up some kinda flashing icon like they do when you are in your quarters to tell you that someone has typed something in on one of your chat channels. This would work best as then you can at least know that there is a message waiting for you and then when you are safe, go look at it.

Yeah, Team Chat is sometimes unusually loud and irritating.
I would like if we had an option like in eve where you can dock/resize chat windows as well as tuning color and opacity.
Make it so that only Squad and Team chat are displayed during battle to cut down on clutter and potential lag.

Wasn't the point of the thread.. Let me clarify, the TEXT chat needs a way to be seen without having to open up the screen, so if an EVE player has connected to the district without a Mic, said EVE player can communicate and be noticed by players in the game.
