In this thread i'm going to give my thoughts on how the pilots suit should be like and the features that the pilot suit can have that separate it from an ordinary dropsuit.
Pilot Suit : All Pilot Suit Bonus : -10% to active module cooldown per level(the placeholder skill) Gallente Pilot Suit : +2% to Armor Mod Efficiency per level Caldari Pilot Suit : +2% to Shield Mod Efficiency per level Minmatar Pulot Suit : +5% to Weapon Mod Efficiency per level Amarr Pilot Suit : (1 of the 2) +3% to Shield Extender/Armor Plate total HP per level +7% to Shield/Armor per level (natural Shield/Armor)
I recommend these bonuses because i think they would be balanced between each race and if the value of the bonus is too much or too little it can be Nerfed/Buffed.
BrainStorm Topic: How to Integrate the Pilot Suit with Vehicles Ideas : 1 - My First idea is to make pilot only mods that only pilots can use, Also to use certain tier version of these mod you would need the appropriate tier suit. This is how it works : STD Pilot Suit = Can use STD Pilot Mods, Can't use ADV and PROTO Pilot Mods ADV Pilot Suit = Can use STD and ADV Pilot Mods, Can't use PROTO Pilot Mods Proto Pilot Suit = Can use all Mods(STD, ADV, PROTO) The reason this feature should be this way is because with a feature like this you give players a reason to use a suit other than STD, if this feature is not added(or similar features) they will not have a reason to use anyother suit other than STD.This is because of the racial bonuses of each suit. Here is a small list of possible Pilot Mods: * Cloaking Mod * The mods we have now, but a pilot variation of each(STD, ADV, and PROTO) * Electronic Warfare(maybe not all of them) * Drone mods(not all of them) * other mods i can't think of The player in the vehicle that is using the wrong suit will see that the module is grayed out to show they can't use it.As for why i listed a cloaking mod as one of these is because it would not make sense if a non-pilotsuit user used it, but if ccp decides to make special vehicles that use a cloaking mod then you can ignore the cloaking mod that i listed.
2 - My Second idea is while using a pilot suit the vehicle is easier to handle and gets a boost to acceleration, After all it only make sense that the pilot suit will make using a vehicle easier to use. The Bonuses will be something like this : STD Pilot Suit = +1% to acceleration, a little better at aerial handling aerial vehicles ADV Pilot Suit = +2% to acceleration, more than a little better at handling aerial vehicles PROTO Pilot Suit = +3% to acceleration, even more than a little better at handling aerial vehicles A small set bonus like this will motivate players into using pilot suits that cost more than a STD suit. Also these bonuses are small enough to not effect the game a lot so it works out for everyone. As for why i didn't put a percent for the aerial vehicle buff it's because i'm not sure how to determine the right percent for aerial vehicles.
3 - My last idea is more basic and makes a lot of sense for pilots to only have this feature, my idea to give players more HUD information that only pilots can see.The reason for this is because the pilot suit can link with the vehicle and has access to more information than a normal suit can. This can include information like : * The Speed of the vehicle * The Altitude of the vehicle * A reticle that appears on your vehicle when you have been locked on and a number next to it to show how many locked on * other hud info for certain planets * other info that i can't think of Having small features like this will greatly promote pilot dropsuits without making the vehicle op.Also by reserving these features for pilot suit, it further promotes how useful this suit can be.It also makes sense to reserve these features for pilot suits because they have a direct link to the vehicles hardware.
All these ideas will promote using the pilot suit and also promote using more expensive pilot suits, the bonuses were made to fit what i know about each race while trying to balance it out correctly. If anyone has more to add go ahead, but try to stay to the topic on how to Integrate better integrate pilot dropsuits with vehicles. Also if i can get an opinion from ccp on how they like my idea or just a comment from them to know they looked at my thread that would be great. |

You cocked up the Amarr suit like everyone who suggests amarrian bonuses does.
Pilot Suit : All Pilot Suit Bonus : -10% to active module cooldown per level(the placeholder skill)
That's insanely good its needs be about 2-3% per level.
Gallente Pilot Suit : +2% to Armor Mod Efficiency per level
The Gallente are one of two armour tanking races and they focus primarily on Active tanking.
Skill should be +2% to Armour Repairer efficiency per level
Caldari Pilot Suit : +2% to Shield Mod Efficiency per level
Skil Should be related to Shield Resistance Modules or Boosters.
Minmatar Pulot Suit : +5% to Weapon Mod Efficiency per level
Matari are fast paced and adaptive skirmishers I could not really suggest a balanced skill for them
Amarr Pilot Suit : (1 of the 2) +3% to Shield Extender/Armor Plate total HP per level +7% to Shield/Armor per level (natural Shield/Armor)
Amarr should have Percentage bonus of between 2-3% efficiency bonus on Passive and or Active Armour resistance modules.
Just a heads up, everyone tell their friends.
AMARR ARENT SHIELD TANKERS. THEY DONT SHIELD TANK, THEY ARMOUR TANK. |

Caldari and Gallente Bonuses look good. Very fitting for their styles.
Minmatar should be +3% speed/torque/acceleration per level.
Amarr should be +3% damage/weapon cooldown per level. |

AMARR ARENT SHIELD TANKERS. THEY DONT SHIELD TANK, THEY ARMOUR TANK. Then why do amarr commando dropsuit have 2% to shield extender hp per level? |

Didn't you see the early release of the Pilot Suit?
They already have it finished and it is in QA as we type. The 1.5 patch will have the new pilot suit.
Modifications will be limited to bug fixes or significant imbalance issues, one would hope anyway.
Wait until the actual pilot suit is dropped. Then respond. Don't forget that the SP cost is more than any other suit by a significant amount. The early release would have cost 4-5M SP. Start saving up. |

Not sure perhaps the same reason all assault suits have a bonus to shield recharge values.
However the Amarr DO NOT shield tank. It doesn't matter what you say about DUST 514 they do not shield tank in EVE they should not be doing it in DUST. |
