Flanked a caldari sniper last round and stood next to him long enough to confirm that he didn't see me on tacnet...woohoo! Then I shot him in the side of the head from 1m away with my k5 shotgun! It was glorious, the white splash effect confirming the contact was everywhere on my screen at that range. Very gratifying.
But there he remained. Looking down his scope, oblivious to my presence, and still alive despite the apparent money-shot he had received to the cheek. So I shot him again, this time center of mass... No glorious splash from his shields, however his overhead indicators showed that I'd depleted his shields by 10%...
At this point he stands and sprints forward as if suddenly aware of my trouser-snake approaching his ear hole. Thankfully, his departure prompted detection to kick-in and I cut the ho loose like an old school vet. um, i mean, i killed his clone with my shotgun.
Anyone else having shotgun issues w/ 1.4? Thank you.

Just flanked a hostile Uplink. It had no idea I was standing right on top of it! Scout Stealth!
Anyhow, my first and second Shotgun blast missed the Uplink. But I blew the heck out of it with my third shot.
Felt pretty good after taking out that Uplink, up until I lost a CQC fight with a Medium/AR I had flanked. |

I think there is a lag issue, or maybe an even bigger issue with hit detection.
95% of the time, I will fire my shotgun into someones face and do 0 dmg. The opponent will continue to run for another .5 seconds and then the kill finally registers. Most of the time I fire 2 shots when the first one does the trick. Very annoying for people who use the Breach variants.
It's great and all that the game is getting better at detecting hits, but this is now far worse. |

DS3, N.America, (too) expensive internet speed, aim-assist on, playmode Skirm, 3 matches running CRG:
- Damage delivery was delayed for the shots-on-target which registered.
- Shots-on-target missed 50% of the time or higher. Shots-off-target occasionally hit.
- Shots-on-target dealt damage erratically. Sometimes scratched, sometimes killed.
Hope this helps. I'll add to my observations once I've played a few more matches. My sample's admittedly too small at the moment to assert claims with any "authority" but something's definitely still wrong with the Shotgun.

^ This. I still managed to go 19/13, so I'm hitting targets but I'm also dying much, much more in tight, CQC fights because I have no idea who is a kill and who just ate a phantom hit.
Pretty bummed out. I know it's patch day but it really shouldn't be like this for a game. I've been a patient supporter of the game but after taking a two week break to prepare for 1.4 and then this coupled with hardly being able to queue for a match is enough to make me want to uninstall it. Dislike :( |

The only difference is that I use a mouse for aiming. |

Had some pretty large delays with the shotty. Shot 3 guys in a row, I die and 2-5 seconds later the kill feed lights up a nice triple...... not worth losing 100 k XD. It also on 2 occasions seemed the guy I shot lagged out, he would continue to walk forward even though im standing there in his face. Then just fall over. |

In order to help CCP bug hunt at least say if you had aim assist on and what controls you are using as both were changed this patch.
Similar issue here. I was standing point blank behind and a little to the side of a sniper, lined up the head shot, and had to shoot him 5 times in order to kill him. The first shot took a little bit of shields off of him, the next 3 did nothing, the final shot killed him.
Using DS3, aim assist on(to test, usually use the mouse). |

Shotgun unreliable at best. Still get shield damage indicators on most shots, damage is applied sporadically, in random bursts. |

New Scan changes made my favorite suit relevant: Scout gk.0, 1x Complex Precision Enhancer, CreoDron Shotgun, Core Flaylock, M1 Grenade, Compact Nanohive, 3x Complex Range Enhancers, 1x Complex Profile Dampener*
Sneaking up on people (albeit far slower than my other suits) and blasting them with the shotgun. I went 19/3 my first match. . . All my shots hit, unless they were inside a null cannon, but there was a massive time delay between hitting the target and them taking damage.
Second match, got like 1500 WPs solo, but went like 5/9. Direct hits, when we're both standing still, we doing 0 damage, maybe a total of 42. 1 pellet of the entire shotgun round hit. that was it.
Haven't tried turning aim assist off, but I refuse to play the game until they fix matchmaking |

Least Likely Dev Response, Ever: We've hotfixed the Shotgun, though on a temporary basis. We've added a dozen pellets to each blast to so it'll function as intended while we investigate the matter further. Of course, this buff will have to be rolled back once we've had time to isolate and fix the root cause.

Exactly this. I shoot people, 0-10 % damage, I shoot again, nothing happens, and while I'm realoading or moving that other person just dies ... I thought that some ally killed them but I get the 50 SP everytime.
VERY strange!

Yes it seems as if half the shots are never actually fired at all, the other half shoot off to one side or something lol.
I shot a heavy in the back point blank 8 times, depleted my clip and never killed him. I assure you the first 3-4 shots were into a motionless heavies back and did 0 damage. |

I can tell you strafing and shooting seems to help, also it seems like the bullets come out at some strange angle from the gun or something is messed up. |

Been using shotguns since closed beta and I have to say they are at their worst. What is up with CCP? Every update brakes the game even more. I came back to see the update thinking the game finally had been put into playable mode, but I guess, like every other patch, is still a huge disappointment. Maybe they will learn to "TEST" a patch before deploying it. Pretty lighting and fixing a non broken menu was their 2.0gb patch LOL! Good job CCP with your hard work. |

Shotguns only seem to marginally work better when the aim assist is on. Turned it off thinking that would help, hitting things got even harder (loads of hitmarkers, but no damage). Uplinks seem to be the king of strafe. |

Like a dofus I jumped into a scout fit the other night. I don't use shotguns since they broke the Kitten out of them. But this suit had it and I died so quick while not doing any damage to someone in my sights while every single bullet they fired hit me.
And since it appears it is just as bad in 1.4, it is time to ignore shottys once more.
Is fixing shotguns even on the fix it list? |

THIS. EXACTLY THIS. At first I thought I was just somehow being terrible, and I was just imagining that I was on target.
So, seconding that the new patch is utterly broken for me.
- Shotgun doesn't register unless I'm hugging a stationary target - Hell, ANY weapons fire within 50m doesnt register at all, like I'm shooting straight through the targets
CQB is a total crapshoot and I can't hit ANYTHING because of the drops in framerate and the nonexistent hit detection. It's pretty much made the game unplayable because I can't hit anything anymore.
I'm in Ontario, Canada.
On a related note, the new matchmaking is just as stupid. If I opt out of that **** domination mode, I shouldn't be getting thrown into them anyway. |

I'm having similar issues as everyone else. I run up to guys and hit them point blank without them knowing i'm there and they take no damage yet when they get further away for some reason I could be a little off and it's like I head shotted them and they fall from one shot. I snuck up on a heavy who was firing at someone else and started shooting him in the back 3 times and he took no damage. He must have heard the noise and started looking around and then I hit him in the face and he died from one hit. This never happens for me. It usually takes 2 face shots or one face shot and one body shot to kill a heavy for me. Not sure what's going on but man I'm dying from there AR's way more than usual and can't even get close to a heavy anymore that isn't engaged. That 2000 rpm is cutting me up real bad now. No jumping and running anymore I'm just dead as soon as they fire at me now. |

Tested the shotgun out a bit more, keep aim assist on. When you engage people just move the reticle on them and don't touch the right stick anymore (won't really have to adjust it much), just strafe around them. Was getting kills when my reticle was pointing at walls or at the air beside/behind enemies. |

If I ever actually hit someone with my shotgun (ie the hit detection worked) Then regardless of my current framerate it's taking at least an extra second to register a kill. I can walk away and then get the kill when I run behind a box...
Yep working as intended. Explosive rounds that detonate within a person after a 1 second fuse timer, super secret nerf. |

Last night in PC Battle using a K5 SG. Snuck up behind a Minmatar scout on a ledge who was busy shooting at my team mates got close to within 1 meter, 1st shot on upper torso and head = No Hit, No Damage on Minja who did not even turn to react, 2nd shot center mass = Hit detected minimal dmg shield halfed and 1/3 armor loss on Minja who began backing up towards me. 3rd shot Point blank or in RL my SG muzzle was against him = Nada, Nada, Nada. He jumped down and team mates mowed him down, did no even get a assist kill pt..... Dafuq!!!! 3 SG shots worth squat. btw we still won no thanks to my ****** shotty gear ended up w/ 4/10. Why CCP, Why??? |

This happened to me last night as well. I was behind someone snipping on a hill top and managed to sneak up to about 5 ft from him. Fired 3 shots into his head with my sniper rifle and he didn't even flinch. After the 4th shot he finally realized what was going on and slowly turned around right as I fired the fourth shot and finally took damage. He started to run and I switched to the SMG to finish him off. This was on open ground with nothing nearby us, some invisible barrier was blocking shots from behind him. It happened again on the original open map with 3 objectives. Someone was hacking objective C as I had a clear shot on his head from the hills not far away. No damage was taken from the 4 head shots until after he finished the hack and ran out from the objective. I also noticed some players are in midair while they hack and do not take any damage. |
